Sorry as this is probably a basic question but I am a business owner trying to do a little SEO as we can't afford to hire out. I have found several PR 4 and PR 5 blogs that allow comments. When commenting, it asks for my name and website. When posting, my name becomes a backlink to my site. Great, however I notice that the page where my actual comment resides has a PR of 0. I am assuming that this link is worthless. Is that correct?

They are still worth something, coming from a high PR site. An example would be backlinks from articles from sites such as Ezinearticles. Even though your article page is PR0, it is still considered a good backlink coming from a PR6 site.

But, of course, it would be best if the page itself has high PR.

I agree that Internal page of high page rank site definitely gives some link juice to your website.

These pages are still worth commenting. A page that has PR-0 is better than nothing. Here is a good tip for you to do blog commenting: find those blogs whose content is related to yours to build relevant and quality backlinks.

No, it's not worthless. All pages of a website have different PR but it still gets a link juice coming from that website's homepage. So it is still worthy to leave comments to websites with good PR.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I was not bothering with these blogs as I assumed they were not worth much. I will incorporate them into my strategy.

    Hey there,
First up, never apologize for asking a question you don't know the answer to. This is how people learn

Your link will still count for something. What you ideally want to do though is find a page that has a high PR that allows you to add a comment. I find these all the time, and it is a big part of my SEO plan.

It is worth something like everyone else stated, but you would probably better off spending your time finding high pr pages to comment on.

One thing I have noticed about PR0 pages on blogs is that they do sometimes gain pr after time.

Another thing to look for when trying to find blogs to comment on is how many links they have on that page. If you find a pr3 page that has 300 links on it, its not going to be as good as a pr3 page with 10 links on it.

A good quality blog comment backlink from a High PR domain is pretty valuable in my opinion, regardless of actual page PR. For sure this link is valuable.
