Hello friends,

I have 2-3 projects related to health that have been doing flip-flops with their rankings over the past couple of months. I am at a loss, since I am doing blog comments, articles, social bookmarking, forum posting on them, but unfortunately I am not able to get any satisfactory results. Now, the biggest problems is that most theme related forums and blogs on health which are high PR give no-follow links, or don't accept anchor text for name field, even though the comments that we post are genuine. Also, all of our sites have long trail keywords, most of which have low to moderate competition.

So, the problems comes that we are not able to find either health related blogs or forums that are do-follow or even if we find them, they are low PR.

So, what I would like to know is what should be the SEO specific tasks that we should concentrate on or should do for health related sites to maintain decent rankings over a period of time especially if the keywords are having low to moderate competition.

Any help whatsoever is deeply appreciated !

Thanks,
Sandeep

    1. Be consistent in adding first-rate keyword-rich content to your site at the pace you find reasonable.

    2. Keep searching for more backlink opportunities. Run your top competitors through a backlink checker to see what backlinks give them most value. Try to get similar ones.

      Hi Sandeep,

First and foremost, look over your internal linking to be sure that you are optimizing internal links for your targeted keywords using contextual linking. You can then use the PR gained from forums and blogs, that "don't accept anchor text for name field", for an indirect influence on your keyword ranking.

Second, don't ignore nofollow links if they have the potential to bring targeted traffic to your website. There is a potential for indirect SEO benefit if you have decent content on your website.

I would suggest that you sign up for one of the blog networks that is around. I am using Build My Rank with decent results. You also might want to look into Unique Article Wizard or Article Ranks
