Oh my goodness. I hope this falls flat on its face. Why? Contrary to public belief Google does not OWN the internet. Period.

Yes they are an influential part of the internet, but thats because of their own branding efforts. Google branded itself as the place to go when you needed to find something on the internet, and its far from the only one in town.

Maybe Foundem should brand themselves as the go to place on the internet instead of relying on another company to send them its traffic.

Does the Burger King down my street get to sue the state because construction shuts down the intersection where there business is located and they lose days, or even weeks of big sales?

    Puh-leeze.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

... and about the second issue ... Google accepting advertising (Adwords) dollars from illegal pharmacies who dispense addictive drugs without prescriptions?

If they are found in the wrong they should be fined. I was speaking strictly of the first issue because that was in the OP.

Oh you poor, poor martyr you.

The allegations are that "Google knowingly took advertising money from websites selling highly addictive drugs without a legitimate prescription." That would be illegal. How does that compare to a state taxing a legally sold product?

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Google seems to be in the headlines a lot lately, in a negative way.
