Quick Adsense Question, Someone has to know the Answer..

If I have 3 posts on my main page, and someone visits the home page and views all 3 adsense blocks does that give me just 1 view on adsense or 3?

    I'm not sure about the answer to your question, but I do know that it is better to use one large block than three blocks on one page. This gives you more targeted ads.

      How can that give you more with less? You are shutting out many advertisers.

      And what happens if one ad buys the whole block?

      If your content can handle it, add all 3 blocks. Why do you think google
      gives you 3?

      Many global advertisers will get in the top block, shutting out many that
      are actually better targeted.

        The issue here, Paul, as I've understood it, is that Google a special kind of "auction" inside its algo that determines WHICH ads show in WHICH ad block. Typically, they reserve the first displaying ad box for the highest CPC advertiser(s). So the first unit, no matter how many are displayed, will have the highest CPC and potential EPC in general.

        If you display your full allocation of units all over, you have a bunch of additional "eyeball attractors" on your site that - if they distract the user into clicking there - earn you less money. Google allows this on your page because ultimately, if the first unit doesn't get the click, they're hedging their bets on the others as a last ditch. But that doesn't help you earn more money because you've got a lot of ads which distract the user and then they might not even click through.

        If you're having trouble with getting high quality ads and thus needing to toss in lots of units to make up for it, consider using Google's ad-section-targeting markup in your HTML content to help Google better understand exactly what your page is about.

        Remember, Google's goal is to make money. The reason they show the best ad first is because they want that one clicked so they earn more (and you, by extension, earn more too). Google has a vested interest in showing the highest-paying ad and so do you. So if you help Google to better know which ads to display with targeted markup, you'll get more relevant ads.

        There is quite a lot on the forum about AdSense placement methodologies. I've found XFactor's stuff to be great and I use it myself.

        If you want more units, just be sure that in your HTML layout and markup that you have the best performing ad unit placement first in your code, so it will attract the high EPC ads.

        Hope that's useful. It's a little beyond the original question, but I think relevant to how this thread evolved.

          That is absolutely not true. There is no guarantee the ad in the top box is
          the highest paying. You are not reading everything. And what will get anyone
          to choose the highest paying ad for a click? Adwords rewards top users with
          a lower CPC. If they buy the whole ad slot, and that's all you have, you are
          in fact shutting out the highest bidder.

          Someone could bid very high, but get no clicks. What good is that?
          The lower QS, the more they must bid. Some high bidders will be shut
          out.

          You have to read what google says in relation to how adwords works.

          You want 3 ad blocks. You want as many bidders and as many ads
          possible to choose from. Again, how is limiting the bidders and ads
          going to work in your favor? It won't as far as the adwords auction
          goes. Many high bidders will be shut out by a higher QS. Notice
          google does not say they put the highest bidder.

          And they don't say they put the highest CPC as the top ad in
          all cases. The QS might get it only #4 if 4 are displayed. They put
          the best performing ad at the very top of the first ad block, if all
          other things are not equal.

          If a QS10 and QS8 are going for the auction, the QS10 will need a
          lower bid. You might not even get the highest bidder on your site
          if you only have 1 ad block.

          Adsense users really need a fundamental knowledge of how adwords
          works.

    My ads are in channels based on size and placement. I have 2 ads per page and each add tally's its own impression count.

    not sure about this, but all I know is that, when you have all ad units placed on three most visible areas (top, left, in content), it will earn you premium from the ads displayed.

    Your page is only getting one view. But what does that matter to you? Doesn't matter until someone clicks on an ad, you could get one view of ten thousand, until someone clicks on an ad there is no revenue for you.

    3 add slots view on single page counts 1 Page impression.
    if page is viewed three times then it will say 3 Page impressions.

    You'll get only 1 view here..but to be honest even if you get 3 views it won't help.
    You can generate revenue only when someone clicks on those ads.
    Adsense is PPC kinda advertising networking not PPV. You can millions of views and without click you won't get even 1 cent. IMO..WF pls correct if I'm wrong
