Hi warriors.
I have always bought domains that have the keyword in them but recently i read in a WSO that age is more inportant so it would be better to get a niche related old domain witout the keyword.

What do you think, Witch of these domain will get best rankings, an old niche related domain or a new domain witch has the keyword in it?
#age #domain #inportant #keyword #main #witch

Now google has removed the important of keywords in domain so my vote goes to Domain Age

That is the big fact in search engine's reputation

Don't know for sure, but I have several sites where I just purchased the exact match domain and have it on page 1 within a week or 2.

One factor that´s even more important, is the amount of back links, and the quality (.edu, .gov the best, because of high domain authority), so you also need to take this in consideration when searching for old domains.
If you can get a EMD (Exact Match Domain), then I would definitely go for that..... you can easy build good links afterwards, and you will get good traffic..... and you can probably sell the domain (even without ANY links) and make money, just by buying the domain, and then sell it on auction, as many is VERY interested in EMD, because of the natural traffic built into it.

Neither is important. Why would domain age be a factor for anything?
That's the epitome of anti-seo, or voodoo as I like to call it.

That would negate anyone opening up a new site and trying for #1.

Domain age? How on earth is that going to count for anything?

Yeah. I know. The cargo-ons will say yeah but...over time.. you build
trust. That has nothing to do with domain age. What if you didn't
build that trust? Trust is not built magically over time, neither is
        a new site untrustworthy.

And why or how is google going to find out or care about how old
        a domain is?

You really want domain age? Buy a domain and let it sit for 10 years.
Let it age like wine. Then after 10 years, develop it. Make sense?
        Of course not.

I think it mostly depends on the quality of your SEO work. Both are important for getting position in the search result. You will get good performance if you have good quality articles and do proper SEO for your site. Keyword in domain and age of domain will help ranking good. But with useful and good quality content you may get number 1 position although your site be new and have no keyword in domain.

Ok, would you go for a old niche related domain with no backlinks or a keyword in domain that isnt EMD?

Yes i know that content is king and i always build good backlink but i just wonder schould i go for a old domain that is niche related or a new domain with keyword in title for my next sites? I know maybe not the most inportant thing but every little step to a better serp is a good step.

Well it depends on the niche, and you will have to check out the hits and competition for the keyword in the domain (that isn´t EMD..)

You can look at EMD in a broad perspective......like
rachael-ray-cookware.com --> 9000 monthly searches, and not too much competition (this domain is still available when I post this ;-)

In my opinion both are important, but if your domain has the keyword it will be more good.

Age of domain name per se is irrelevant, tested this concept thoroughly and the important factor is age and quality of backlinks.

Basically if you have a 5 year old domain with no backlinks and a 2 year old domain with 2 year old backlinks the latter is more likely to rank well.

    Age per se is irrelevant.

Interesting discussion, I've had a generic keyword domain which was on the low end of the first page of google for the first year but now it just jumped up to number 3 position so age is definitely very important but if you don't use your keyword in your title you won't be able to rank for it.

So keyword in your title and age of the domain go hand in hand.
