Email list?

Hi guys, I want to know, what exactly are email lists and how useful are they. I also want to know how can I build my own list. Can I make money from it? How? I Googled and saw some websites offering it. Like aWeber. But the pricing for it is like $19/month. And right now, I can't afford such a price.

    There are free options, but I personally use Aweber. It has some pretty cool features, and once your list is built; it's easy to cover the cost.

    The idea behind list building is to have people to market to. Basically you send an email out to your list, which has a link to something where you can make money (your product or an affiliate link), and then some will buy it.

    How to create a list. Easiest way I've found is to use traffic on one of my websites, and then give something away free in exchange for an email. My one website is my software company. People put in their email and receive a free trial of the software.

    Then I send them a few emails over the course of the next few weeks (all setup in aweber), and offer any random holiday sales. And some of them buy. Every other month, I'll usually send out a link to an affiliate program I belong to. It will be a quick review, and why I recommend the product. Some more buy.

    So once your list is up, its easy to cover the $19/m.


    I know there's one aweber competitor that offers basically the same service, and its free as long as your list is under 250 emails. Hopefully someone knows what it is, and can help below.

      I think MailChimp is free if your list is small. So, if you build as many as you can there, hopefully by then you will have the $$ to either move up with them or switch to Aweber.

      I hear that MailChimp also has some very nice features.

    An email list is a great thing to have.

    When I first started I did it manually (getting the email addresses from a contact form) until I started to make enough money for aWeber each month.

    From there I just grew it and grew my monthly income.

      Start list building is key to a successful long-term IM-business. Chose a specific subject within a Niche, write a report or use a PLR report and rewrite it, make it unique and specific.

      In these days specifically in the IM Niche you have to give your customers something with value. Give the report for free AFTER they have opted in on your site via an Opt-In Box where they are asked to give their email address in exchange of a free valuable report. They are then directed to your autoresponder where you have some prewritten emails to send out with a download link. Then build confidence with your list by using the auto responder to keep in touch with your prospects by sending them emails regularly with tips on certain items. Also understand that it’s NOT a good idea to sell/promote products in all these mails. But once or twice a month include a link to a money-site with your product or an Affiliate product.

      I think there are some free alternative to AWeber

      To be honest I don’t know of any free auto responders and their reliability (that’s the biggest issue here). As I said in my earlier post I’ve heard about free auto responders but I have no name and no experience. I understand that money is an issue BUT a list is one of your most important foundations in your future business. Again I know, it’s easy for me to say, BUT I really mean it.

      Please some one out there help these guys to find a reliable free auto responder

    With an email list you basically have a list of people you can market to, if you have 100 subscribers in the press of a button you can market something to 100 people

    Get something like aweber, or getresponse and simply put that code onto your websites to capture email addresses. There are so many ways which you can use email marketing to make money on the internet.
