Hi All
I have a niche site sitting at number 2 spot on google for its respective keyword. This site gets reasonable traffic and roughly 4 clicks per day. Problem is the clicks are only paying between .05 and.08 cents each. Now one reason I selected this niche is because the google keyword tool lists a CPC of $3.34. I know this refers to the cost for advertisers, but I was expecting a higher CPC return when ads are clicked.. Is there something I can do to ensure that I am displaying ads with a higher CPC..?
What else can I do to get a higher CPC from adsense on this site..?
Thanks

e cost-per-click (CPC) is the amount you earn each time a user clicks on your ad. The CPC for any ad is determined by the advertiser; some advertisers may be willing to pay more per click than others, depending on what they're advertising

That number is what Google expects to charge the advertisers for the search network and not the content network.

This is a huge difference and is one of the reasons why you can see some of the keywords on spyfu.com going for $20-30 and is not something you will ever get.

In order to find the real CPC you need to first login into your adwords account. Select the "Reporting and Tools" tab and choose "Contextual targeting tool".

Now enter your keyword to find the actual CPC.

As long as you're looking at prices of apples, and selling oranges... you'll always remain confused.

I think it goes on a bidding and demand system. Could someone clarify this? I'm also quite confused about this whole CPC thing.
