Backlinks..not working?

Hey,

This is not a thread about me breifly trying a backlinking strategy and then complaining because I don't see instant results. I simply have some questions.

I have started my strategy based on diversification of backlink sources. For one of my sites I'm starting with article directories backlinks, and for another I've started with squidoo plexo links backlinks.

I understand these two methods and have been creating links. However when I check the backlinks of my sites with backlinkwatch or yahoo the links I've been making on squidoo don't appear, nor links from the article directories. The anchor text in particular is worrying, I have apparently only 4 backlinks for one of my sites from I'm not sure where. But the anchor text is "website" according to backlinkwatch.

I've been creating links and using anchor text. If it's working I'm not sure, because I can't measure the results.

Any advice?

Just one last thing on things like squidoo. I've heard that too many links from the same IP makes them of less value. But I've read strategies where one can aim to get up to 100 links through squidoo ... but these would be relatively ineffective?

Thanks,
Jason

In seo there is no such thing as Instant Result specially in backlinks but do set "aside the traffic of course" there are a lot of Article Submission around that are useless. make sure that you are using or submitting on High PR, Most Traffic and top 10 Article Submission sites. also you have to wait for a week or two.

  • How long have you been building these links for? Often it can take ages for them to get found by Google, and sometimes not even at all.

My advice would be to either ping your links (doesn't always work), or use an indexing service. This will get your links indexed and make sure that Google actually credits you for them. Even when they are indexed though, it can still take a while to show up.

Your links will take quite some time to show up, and many sources (especially G) will never show full results but instead a sampling.

Just create as many backlinks from as many (diverse) platforms as possible and keep going at it. You will see your results in SE rankings, don't worry what the SEs tell you they have - worry about how they are ranking you.

I will tell you yahoo site explorer and the usual checkers are not telling you even some of the truth about your backlinks. MajesticSEO.com is the one I trust and can find links indexed in the last 24 hours. I don't know of any other tool that can do that.

No one source shows you exact backlinks. But you need to index those article links and web2.0s using many indexers around then some links will show up.Keep building backlinks.

  • Backlinks take time to be picked up by link checker tools (sometimes, it may take up to 3 months, even when they are indexed in Google). Many backlink checkers are very inaccurate, and cannot really be relied upon. Here is a good service that will help to get your links crawled & eventually indexed: Linklicious.me - Scheduled RSS Feeds to get your Backlinks Crawled FAST

Linklicious is really easy, as easy as 3 clicks. There is a chart is on the home page, with a premium account at only 14.50 we will ping your links until you get them crawled...so it is %100 effective.

I think you are in a hurry to build links.Be patient the methods that you have suggested all work well. For how long have you waited before you actually checked the links on yahoo site explorer? You have to wait for a sufficient amount of time before you actually start seeing the results.

Thanks for all the replies, really appreciate it. I have no problem putting the time into backlink building and I knew I would have to from the start. But I just felt like I was spinning my wheels trying to get going there for a while ... Posts in this thread have reassured me and all is well in camp Jason again!

Any advice on the very last bit of my OP about squidoo and IPs?

you need to build your links slowly and also from trusted sites..there is no point building so much links from spam sites which are useless and is time wasting...time lost cant be turn back so do the right thing at the start and it will save you lots of trouble the next time..

Hi Jason, although you have said you have a strategy based on diversification of backlinks, it is really not diversified. Your site with article directory backlinks contains only that - article directory backlinks. And your other site isn't diversified either because it only has squidoo plexo links backlinks. I would recommend building a wider variety for each site and see how that turns out.

Just give it some time. It might take a while for the backlinks to get indexed. Especially if you're just posting the articles on one or two directories.
