within Last 2 weeks my website appeared on first page on 4th position for a specific keyword 7 times!!! But each time Google sent back my site to 3rd page 24th position.........

What should I do?? I am building backlinks continuously and trying to build quality backlinks. But Google is very rude to my site!! The site content is frequently changing and on-page optimization has done long ago.

Can warriors tell me what should I do.............!!
#google #idiot
  • This is very common, especially if your site is new. It is known as the Google dance. Basically Google is trying to decide where your site belongs.

Keep building quality backlinks, with your keywords in the anchor text.
Trust me, it's a good thing, especially if your site keeps coming back. Eventually it will settle down and rank well.

Yep, I'm going to guess it is less than six months old, right?

Happened to me, I wracked my brain trying to figure out what I did wrong, came up with several possibilities.

Gave up, then got a sale. Noticed it ranking well again, then poof, down in the dungeon again, then back up.

I'm adding more links, I need to get off my lazy butt and write some new content, I suspect that would really help, especially an info page without writing another review.

Here you go, this is what the Google dance looks like, I wish they'd stop playing with me like the girls I dated in high school, they know they want to but they just wont quite say yes... yet.

The graphs is for about four months of the Google flirt, I think I like the google flirt better, still trying to make up its mind.

Reminds me of "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" lol Now you can't force the issue, that will get you jailed but you shouldn't accept no as the final answer, they just might change their mind. Ask again.

You're dancin' with Google. Don't worry, it will come back. Possibly even better than it was before.

Google is not an idiot. Their system is just trying to understand where to place your site. Unless you drop to page 5 you're good for now...

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

  • Sound like the Google dance, which is completely normal and to be expected, Especially with new sites. Just keep on building high quality, anchor text backlinks.

If only I were an idiot running a multibillion dollar company.

Send in your resume. Maybe they will hire you with all of your
    expertise.

Idiot google? Yeah. How about idiots thinking google owes them
    something.

There it is! Stop being an idiot yourself.

Why do you think that if you build backlinks and create new,
good content, that google is under any obligation to put
you on the first page? What if 100 other people did the
    same thing? Then what?

Google puts sites on the first page for lots of reasons. Seldom
does this just include number of backlinks and "great" content.

Get over yourself. And ignore what "idiot" google does and get
    a life of your own.

Oh that's still a very young site.

Not to worry though, just keep what you're doing SEO-wise and you'll eventually end up on a more stable ranking position

If the links in your signature are any indication then you have very few quality links.

Nop the link in my sig is another site. Its not that one I am talking about. In fact I am competing for a very popular and competitive keyword. And the site in my sig is an old site. its age is almost 4 years. But the site caught by google dance is just few months old.

I bet those backlinks are forum links, right?

Creating a crap load of low PR backlinks will make your sites pages bounce like rubber ball in the SERPs.

Lay off the low PR backlinks, & get a few quality high PR backlinks (PR actually on the same page as the backlink). It shouldn't take very many quality links to rank an average keyword. Now If your keyword is insurance, that's another story.

That's what I expected, those are all low value links.

Try what I posted in my first comment above.

I have been on both sides of Google Dance.

I have site which went up to #1 overnight and dropped to #30 just as fast, and back to page 1 on the following month. Roller coaster ride.

I have seen competitors sites whom, out of nowhere, overtook my site rank and suddenly disappeared. Then it slowly emerged again at page 1.

Don't fret. Just continue to focus on SEOing the site.

Google dance can come as a shock but just keep working ad you should be OK. Theres nothing you can do about it. You could look into other traffic/revenue channels alongside Google organic.
