It would be better to have unique content for each article submitted so in your case 100 articles 100 sites.

Well it's not that it's specifically bad but it doesn't add benefit. Also it sounds like you have the answer from your own experience. IMO using automation to blast the same article to many different sites is really just spamming. You need to be promoting and using good quality unique content.

Submit the same article to the top 10 article directories or so will be enough imo.

      Yeah , and
articles can be same as Your post but - make them after the post is indexed by google so your post will gain authority (even if the article wil be not unique)

i think to submit same article in multiple directories count duplicate content.submit unique article in each directory after spinning them.

There is absolutely no such thing as duplicate content in that regards..

It only becomes duplicate content when your website is, reads, looks, and feels exactly the same as another page on your site...

Submitting the same quality unique article to a multitude of directories works wonders... Not only are you getting an insane amount of backlinks, but you are also increasing your rankings in the search engines for your targeted keywords...

That's syndication. Only if you post the same article twice under the same domain then it's duplicate content.

I dont see why it would be considered spammy as many article directories are just happy to get content. However I could see how article directories could considered poorly spun articles as spam.

I write an article for my site, I let it get indexed, I submit the article to my favorite top three directories, and around a month later I submit it to other directories through AMR. If I had time to make a good readable pun copy for each directory I would. This is just not in my time frame.

This method has been giving me great results for a long time now, but it is just a small part in my backlining strategy.

Another part I dont get to some of the responses, Why would you want to go out of your way to write unique content for an article directory? The only person you should be providing unique content for is yourself. We are in this business to grow our own comapnies not someone elses.

    First)

Duplicate content refers only to the same content recurring on the same domain. Articles are syndicated NOT duplicated.

    Second)

Because articles are syndicated you can put them on as many directories as you want. Writing 100 articles and submitting them each to a different single directory is insane.

    Third)

Article marketing is a two part process. First, it starts with distribution. You want to distribute your article as widely as you can for backlinks and also for the second part of the process...
Syndication! Webmasters find your article and they post it on their site - you get a link and traffic from the links in your resource box. You want to get backlinks and traffic from the distribution as well as placing your article strategically on the web so that it is found and syndicated as effectively as it can be.

Many people keep it simple and submit to just the top directories (Ezine, ArticleBase etc.). Many people also keep it simple and simply do a submission blast with AMR. The best results are garnered from quality content that is distributed widely and put on top directories for visibility with webmasters.

So put shortly, YES, it is okay

Spin the article into different versions and then submit to article directories.

it is next to impossible to spin an article 100 times, it hasn't got enough places and synonyms to be spun or rewrite, it is better to write a fresh content or modify it to 5 t0 10 directories maximum

I think the best way to do it write 5 - 10 articles and then submit them on different directories and spin them for others.

I'd stick with unique articles and only use the big article directories, there really isn't much point in submitting non-unique articles to small article directories, unless you've got the software to do so, you'd be better off spending your time writing more articles.
