Please tell me what is "Keyword Density"

Hi guys .I am new to SEO and many times I have come across the term keyword density.Please explain me in detail and tell me what should be the ideal keyword density for a good blog post

    The percentage of times a keyword appears on a webpage is known as keyword density....Ideal keyword density is around 2% - 5%

      I just did a very controlled test and 6% is better than 2% if everything else is equal. The problem with 6% is it sounds pretty terrible when you read it.

      If you are trying to make a site that offers real value to people, I wouldn't worry much about the keyword density. Just keep it ~1-2% (which you would naturally do anyway) and it should be fine.

      If you're just making a MFA site, then a little higher might be a little better.

    I use the Clickbump SEO! plugin to help me keep my keyword density just right. It will give you a green light if you are in the right density area. It will also suggest LSI keywords to use in your content so it is more natural.

    Plus, it just helps make sure all your onpage SEO ducks are in a row

        SEO! isn't free - it is a one time cost of $37. But it was the best $37 I have spent! I have never really 'got' SEO, so this plugin has been a huge help. I am in the process of going through all my posts that I made before I got it and improving them using the plugin, and as a result many old posts are climbing in the SERP's.

    Basically, keyword density is: the percentage that your targeted keyword is present on a page of your site. I never go above a kw density of 3%, and I've found 1.5-2% to be ideal.

    I use seoquake to check keyword density. Seoquake is a well-known plugin for all major browsers (Opera, FF, Chrome) to find the density of words on a page with one click. Simply install it on your browser and you can even check each page. I think it's more convenient.

    Keyword Density is all about usage of keywords and phrases in website content either webcopy or Meta Title Description. in old days. people use it with stuffing and they get good ranking with that with a poor webcopy , but now all standard search engines revamped their quality and know about keyword density or proximity. it is the ratio of repetition of keywords in content or meta.
    The standard keyword density is calculated by total number of keywords divided by total words of content. and it should be up to 4 % . otherwise Google ll penalize your website in too much keyword density action. so beware work smartly , cause Google is now smarter that us.

    Keyword density, if you want to use it as a metric, is a moving target. Different niches and different topics will naturally have differing keyword densities just by the nature of the content.

    For example, scientific texts will have a higher kw density because if you're trying to describe a scientific process you tend to be very exact.

    You just can't pull a number out of the air and say "there it is."

    You're just going to drive yourself crazy counting it all the time. Aim for highly readable and user-friendly content and you'll find that your keyword density will likely be appropriate as a matter of course.
