Can You (or do you) Make a Full Time Income with Adsense?

I understand you need several different streams of income, but I am wondering if it is still possible to make a decent (5K+ per month) income using just Adsense and affiliate marketing like Amazon?

I see all these posts about how you need a list and then market to your list, or create your own product, etc.

But, I am just not that type of person. I like to stay in the background with my nose to the grindstone and write content for my sites. So far Adsense and Amazon have been a perfect fit for my personality. Until the last Panda update, I was making around $800 per month in Adsense and $500+ with Amazon. Of course I would like to increase that by about 10x

Is this possible by adding original content to my sites, good on page SEO and backlinking (which I don't like so I tend to outsource) that I can get to that magic place without building a list or creating my own product?

Maybe this is a dumb question and the answer is within myself. But sometimes you need confirmation that you are on the right track from others who have been there.

Your making $1300/month and your asking if it's possible for 5k/month? Of course it is, scale your niche, scale your sites and you'll get there.

So would you continue to build the existing sites larger, or add more small niches?

I feel like a lot of my sites have so much potential, but I am trying to maintain 30+ sites and some fall between the cracks. Those sites bring in enough to pay for my hosting and domain renewals Maybe if I gave them a little TLC they could become real earners.

Another question - how big do you make a Wordpress site? For a small niche you could eventually run out of things to write about - right? Yet, I know that fresh, original content is one part of the equation for success.

We would say small niche sites as a base of income, but look for winners to expand on. They might interest you or just be easy to compete in.

Your sites should be at least 5 pages to start off, not including privacy, contact, and about us.

All my sites have a minimum of 5 pages of content, some I have built out to 20 - 60 pages and growing. There is no way I can build them all out on my own, and to be honest some of the niches bore me to tears

The ones that interest me and I know a lot about the subject are the ones that are making the bulk of my $$ right now. I guess that shows if you are passionate about a subject you will stay with it!

I am still building the sites I love, and I am improving the on page SEO on the ones that I don't love, but they earn money monthly. Hopefully that will give them an additional boost.

I know what you mean about small niche sites. There is only so many ways to say the same thing. If there's no more new information to add, I have trouble just rewriting ideas to make new pages.

I do try to add a page every so often if I can just to keep my sites fresher. It's not too satisfying to be spread too thin, so I just can't bring myself to create a lot of 5 page sites and leave them.

I've decided to stick to more of an authority site model in the future for the most part. I'm hoping that adding writing unique content and using SEO effectively will allow me to do not have to do too much backlinking (since I find that less than interesting to do).

        I would add smaller ones.

I have a skylight site that gets over $1 clicks day in/day out.
It has 20 pages on various topics regarding skylights.

I then put up 4 really tight skylight sites with 5 pages and these get more per click and a better CTR.

As an example, if you have a website on laptop bags get a site on

        leather laptop bags
        laptop bags for students
        designer laptop bags
        waterproof laptop bags

        Works for me

        Cheers

Why not put together a squeeze page and capture your visitors' email? This way you can send them followups containing your affiliate links. Also, I recommend using CPA offers as well since the are lucrative!

Surely it's possible, now you make $1300 per month, just times 4 you'll make $5200 every month, it's all about numbers. Make more websites or compete on more keywords.

I think it's time for you to think "Outsourcing"

Re-invest part of those $1,300 to outsource the creation of another group of sites that could double your income. It shouldn't take long. Then do the same, keep duplicating what's working for you outsourcing it.

Write your own blueprint, or even better, make a video tutorial. Then just send it to your outsourcing guy or team.

If you have a "secret technique", then divide tasks in two or three parts and outsource each task to different people. This way they won't know how to duplicate your secret technique.

It is definitely possible and it seems that you have been walking on the accurate paths to achieve your financial goals. Just one matter coming to my mind and that is about the number of sites you are going to moderate. You have stated that you own dozens of sites and intend even increasing the number, well I believe it would be much better to focus on only a handful of big sites which generate fortunes a month.

A lot of bloggers are found earning great monthly incomes from their one or two monster sites instead of moderating dozens of minor ones which might lose importance in the future. Try making your current major site(s) bigger day by day by adding more sections to them, writing contents, building internal links and spreading the word about them, there is no limits on scales of the websites you know.

Yeah I agree. Start outsourcing and scaling up. A 4 times increase will be closer than you think.

Add more tools to your arsenal. Like WP core conversions, or set up a regeneration system for your leads. Ben Shaffer's new product teaches this concept and could increase your conversions substantially. But you really need to get a list process going, develop your backend and capitalize there.

If you're making any money at all from adsense then you have already proved what works. Do more of what's working and less of what isn't.

It's easy to stay with a niche because you beleive in it, but if it ain't paying it's way lose it and create another of what is bringing in the Dollars!

Re-invest too, outsource to double up and then repeat...

It's quite possible to make a full time living with adsense given enough traffic, right selection of well paying topics for your sites, researching keywords that pay well and optimizing your money pages for these keywords specifically.

For instance, a page optimized for "health insurance" doesn't pay anywhere near as a page optimized for "health insurance quotes".

Lastly, a note on full compliance with the terms. If there is one advice for anyone looking seriously into earning a lot with adsense AND continuing to earn it - it's spend 2-3 days reading and re-reading slowly the Adsense Program Rules and all related pages referenced in that file. Additionally Google "Adsense account disabled", then read all the posts on AdSense help forum on this topic.
