For a adsense site targeting high paying clicks whats the minimum searches per month you`d go to ?

I'd look at 1000+ but it really depends on the niche I suppose. It depends on what you hope to make from a word - $10, $100?

If you can take the top spot on Google, that will translate into approx 40% of the traffic for that word. So with 1000, searches, you might get 400 clicks.

Of those 400 clicks, how many will click on the ad? Let's be optimistic and say 5%, this gives you 20 ad clicks.

So, multiply 20 clicks by whatever you'll actually get paid by Google. Is that enough? Mind you that the numbers on the keyword tool are what advertisers pay. Google says that they pay adsense affiliates 68% of what they are paid - some people don't believe it, but if you take Google's word for it, your $3 click gives you about $2.

0.4*Monthly Searches*CPC and see if it's more than what you expect to make per month.

Wrong formula. That's how much you could make with a high CTR.

If you have a high CTR template, then use a formula like this:

0.05 * exact monthly searches * 0.3 * cpc * 0.4

So this means you have 5% CTR, you will get 30% of the monthly search traffic and will be paid 40% of the CPC by Adsense.

A keyword with 800 monthly searches and $1.50 CPC, you could expect to make $7.20 per month, and if you own 40 micro niche sites, thats around $10/day.

Hi if this is a rough guess of how to work it out if i get to page one of google which shouldnt be that hard as theres only 12,900 pages competing and none are high pr and the search is 9,900 each month and the approx cp is 1.18,
so working it out with above formula

0.05 * 9,900 * 0.3 * 1.18 * 0.4 = £70.09 (one keyword i have another 5-6 like this)

For $4+ per clicks and the competition is low and seo will be quick, then maybe 700-800 exact.

you can try and work things out with numbers etc but to be honest

the google keyword tool is never that accurate anyway but of course we do need to use it as a guide

i usually go for traffic around 590 - 800 that way you are not doing the same as all the other adsense marketers

1st page of google is just as important though make sure its not too competitive

in spyfu i make sure the cpc is a minimum of around $0.80 approx

but if your min is higher thats fair enough

once you start ranking you can then see how much traffic you are getting from your position and then see if its worth you moving up

I like Spyfu and use it frequently, but the only problem is that some of the CPC estimates are not even close to what I've found using other tools. Of course, CPC will always flucuate depending on who is bidding on specific keywords.

In general, I take 1000 as the minimum. I think the key is how competitive it is to rank at top 10.

Jeez, this is so dependent on the keyword, the ads, the niche, your ranking, traffic, competition and many other things. There is no answer that anyone can give you here that will prove more effective than your own testing.

Do this: Target some keywords with high cpc in several different levels of search volume. (yes, even below 1000 per month) Write the content observing all on page seo factors and throw some backlinks at them. Then give your content some time to settle into the serps and start ranking and getting traffic.

Then analyze your results closely in google analytics and webmaster tools. You will see which keywords and search volumes are doing well and which ones are easier to rank. You will also see that the success of those keywords vary wildly.

You could have two keywords that each get 3000 per month global exact searches and each have a cpc of 10$ and one of them will still perform way better than the other based on many other factors that affect the keyword and the page like competition, ad availability, ctr and other things like that.

How about page competition? How low is considered good to go for? I'm referring to the number of page results when you do a search in google on your keyword with quotes. At the moment I'm targeting 50,000 and below. Is this too low or good?

Hey i have been told not to bother with how many pages there are with the quotes main thing is to see what the comp is like on page one of google.. use this as a rough guide..

Target keywords where not all the results are using the exact keyword in the title.
At least 2 of the top 10 results have less than 10 links to the resulting page (0 links preferred)
At least 2 of the results with less than 10 backlinks also have a PageRank of 0. Meaning 2 results need to have a PR of zero AND have less than 10 links.
Target results with weak types of sites (article directories, forums, etc.).
Target results where ranking pages are NOT root domains.

I dont know weather this is currect or not but think it is but im a newbe so unsure but check out Niche Pursuits | Find Business Ideas, Niche Websites, and Much More!

the least im looking for is 700 searches each month on exact.. i dont really think its a case of doing what oher adsense marketers are doing its all about the figures if the figures look good roll with it,,

I focus on my ROI. I outsource all my content so I don't look at anything less than 1000 exact searches. It's just not worth it. Then I heavily analyze the competition.

has anyon got any more info on this? iv been thinkng of targtein higher paying keywords but with searches with at least 500 exact local searches thn targte a lot more keywords so the traffic mounts up what do you guys think?
