Anyone know of any keywords or how to look for keywords that are so low in competition, you could rank on the 1st page of google simply by the on-page criteria?

    Sure,

I'll bet I can rank #1 for "Lets get on the first page of google with no backlinks" without any backlinks

Just kidding. Usually if it's that low in competition it's probably not worth going after but that is not always the case... you can definitely find some golden nuggets that can drive enough traffic to make it worthwhile.

The real trick is finding keywords with value that are low enough in competition that just a very few backlinks will do the trick.

You can use tools like SEO Quake to help you determine competition

You couldn't be more wrong. I get thousands of visits daily from all of the low competition keywords adding up, and by the way, that's always the case.

well, yeah I guess even if it's extremely low in competition, I would have to get at least some backlinks. I know how to determine whether the competition is low enough, but how exactly do I look for such keywords? Google keyword tool is great but, I need something better.

Normally when using Google keyword tool the maximum results show are around 100.

Simply click on sign in on the top right hand corner of Google Keyword tool to sign in with Gmail account the result increases significantly up to 800 search results.

      Hope it help

In reality, there isn't much point of wasting your time with these keywords. They are usually such low hanging fruit that you won't actually benefit by ranking for them at all.

I'd recommend spending time on worthwhile strategies that allow you to rank for keywords that will in turn bring you traffic and money.

Yeah, but if you can rank for a lot of these keywords, it can really add up.

There have been quite a few WSOs going around recently about new keyword tools and stuff, I haven't really paid attention because there is still more than enough to be found on Google Keyword Tool for me.

You can get on the first page for a lot of keywords without backlinks. Will it stay? Maybe, maybe not. You can get a lot of movement by quality on page SEO, but for long term stickiness you'll want the backlinks added over time.

I use the data from Google Keywords in addition to the free version of Traffic Travis to determine how hard it is to rank for a particular keyword. In Traffic Travis you can run a SEO Analysis to look at the top 10-20 results in Google for that particular keyword. After it completes it displays all kinds of data about these results and the things that these top competitors are doing to rank.

    I hope this helps.

Speaking of on-page criteria, does anyone know a free tool that will analyze your page and make sure it's properly optimized for a particular keyword?
