The best way to increase the adsense income is,choose some keywords and optimize your site under those keywords.Traffic on your site will be increased and your site will get more targeted clicks.

Yes that is good but make sure your page is tagged correctly and the article content is close to the same as the meta tags,most investment type sites pay the most,forex,stocks,etc

There are many other factors too.. ie the placement of the ads,how big is your competition of your niche, the amount of time the visitor stays on your website and also the value of your content...all this plays a big part in your income too...

These points are basic , but you should follow some other thing to be succed , quality content is most important , you can be successfull if you have nt site with good quality- no matter how much you seo for your sites , quality contents is the base
