    Hi Red,

I am going to respond to your question with a few questions of my own. What keyword research have you done to determine what niches to target? How many searches do you want minimum, and how much competition are you comfortable with. Keyword research is where the battle for profits is won or lost. It doesn't matter how good your site is if no one is interested. So I am going to believe that you have a list of keyword phrases, and have analyzed it from the perspective of potential traffic, and competition.

So now it becomes a question of which of these phrases are buying niches, and which ones are not. For that I am going to recommend putting yourself in your customer's shoes, and deciding what would a customer be searching for who is ready to buy. Product and model based keywords tend to work, and you may want to target phrases with variations of buy, coupon, best, cheap, etc.

If your not comfortable with that, why not ask your visitors. How to do this you might ask? Well, why not run some tests on your sites where you show them the phrase, and track opt ins, or clicks, or etc.

Another thought is to try PPC advertising. Run some ads based off of desired keywords, and you should be able to glean some valuable info on what your customers will prefer. Hope that helps.

From the standing point of the customer, it is what they are searching for that will get you a sale. Keyword choice is at the heart of this process. If the customer is searching for "best" or "cheap" then your better off going with the variation that has worked in the past.
Now if you are trying to hit on the exact match keyword then you are pulling in the customer that wants to buy right now. It's the conversion rate that really counts here. The higher the conversion rate the higher the page ranking, the more money you are making.
All the keyword research you do is to get the highest ranking that you can sustain with sales.
Now, from your view point it's the content that has to work for the keywords that you want to target. Using keywords that are "soft" or have low search numbers will not preform up to the standards of exact match keywords. Remember, you are targeting the customer that wants to buy right now.
