Need good seo advice on two different domain names

I bought a domain name about 2 months ago, and have put two posts on the site so far. My intention is to put about 20 to 30 posts over time. As an example, the domain name is similar to besthaircaretreatmentreview.com, which has 890 exact match local searches a month.
I wasn't too concerned with the low searches because the products I will post have good searches.
Today while searching for new keywords I found (as an example) besthaircaretreatmentsreview.com, which has 6,600 searches a month exact match local. The only difference is that treatments is plural.
My questions is, would it be worth switching domain names. I don't mind the work, so that is not an issue.
The first domain is already in position 28 in google, and has 128 backlinks.
Mainly what I am asking is, does the domain name only effect the ranking of the home page, or does it affect the ranking and traffic of the entire site, and would this situation affect the ranking of all the posts I eventually put on the site?
