I think there is a big discrepancy of what the Google tool reports and what traffic you actually get if you are number one.

This is why it is always a good idea to rank at the top for a number of related keywords.

No, it just means that about 1000 people will search for that keyword and view the SERP. How many will click on your site, there is no way to determine that.

I would say it is pretty close to right all the time. Since I use this tool all the time, I do keyword research for exact match domains everyday. Some might say it is off by this percentage or that one. But for the most part I think it is a good tool.

Google keyword Tool is the one of the best in this section. if you are using this tool that means you are in right place. If you just select that keyword which have 1000 search that means only that keyword search by 1000 time in month. Or if you have some different keyword who have 1000 search in month that means you will get lot of search to your website in a month.

  • google keyword suggestion tool tell us keyword ideas, but its not that accurate in terms of searches and traffic, there may be many reasons behind this. on of this like the searching trend may change, other websites that are less ranked but may get more visitors because of the brand name, etc so the best thing is to go for so many keywords.

I think is possible if your keywords have good amount of searches, I am getting 550 visitors per month to my website. But my main keywords don't have good ranking. As they come i am sure the visitors volume will increase.

    Hey John,
No keyword tool gives the right information with respect to keywords. All they give is approximation.
If your website for a keyword is ranking top on google then you get 40-50% of the traffic searching for that keyword to your website.

Based on that keyword - yes. But that doesn't mean your click rate will be 1000. Your click rate could be improved though if your 'meta description tag' is more relevant to your most favoured keyword.

The global monthly searches are an estimation as there are so many variables to account for to give a true and accurate result.

    Good luck with this
