How many Social Bookmarking accounts does one need?

I understand I need to bookmark everything. Every article I post, every article I post on good article directories, videos I create, and so on.

When I start rolling out site after site... that's A LOT of social bookmarks. Don't people run into getting their accounts banned or disabled because of this?

If that's the case, how many accounts does one need with each service?

Interested to hear what you guys think. Thanks!

p.s. I hope I posted this in the right area, and I couldn't find an answer after searching.

    Uno. Bookmarking sites exist because you want to bookmark/mention different sites that you see on the web. Not just your site. So when you're bookmarking different sites and pages it looks better that way. Plus, your profile on the bookmarking sites will become beefier and you might even find people who actually follow the things you bookmark.

    You should be more personal rather than professional on "social" sites. You'll get better results.

    As many as possible in order to index your pages faster, but it would be helpful to bookmark your site in high pr ranking websites. However, one bookmarking site and one account per each site every time you promote your site.

      Thanks for the replies. I left out a small detail.

      Say I take an article that's on my money site... and I submit the same article to the top article directories.

      Then I go and bookmark that same article on each directory.

      That might be 10 different bookmarks for the same content on digg for example. That's more of the situation I'm asking about.

        So you mean to say that your are willing to create duplicates of your content? Please take note that you duplicate content is a great nightmare in terms of SEO.

        There is no point in doing that. Bookmark the copy that's on your site.

    The number of bookmark accounts depends on how many social bookmarks you would like to utilize. Although keeping a good reputation in these bookmarking sites is imperative than having a multitude accounts.
