I am spending a lot of money on adwords currently, and also doing a lot of work on SEO, it seems as if I was was ranking for my terms in Google that I wouldn't need to run adwords as well ( my site is fairly new). Has anyone who is ranking on the first 3 think this, or do you still run your PPC campaigns along side the SEO?

Try to inactivate adwords and see what the results will be for your traffic.

Continue running the adwords also if it is giving you a positive ROI (Use a conversion tracking system for PPC such as prosper202)

Do an analysis, find out if there are any other ads displayed for the same key word. If there are some ads you had better to continue the Adwords too (again if the ROI is positive).

I am bit confused here.. Do you mean you are ranking in the top three positions in google for your target keywords and are also running ppc on the SAME keywords???

If you are ranking organically for your keywords, it can still make sense to run an Adwords campaign. If you are still making money on your campaign while ranking, then why wouldn't you keep running it? Make sure you are tracking which conversions are coming through your organic channels and which conversions are coming through your paid channels. If you are earning more than spending on your paid channels, keep running your Adwords campaign. It is common sense.
