So just what is required to get to the $10k per month milestone?

I have seen enough on here to suggest that to earn 10k a month with your own site is as easy as baking a cake, but most are kidding themselves and you to suggest otherwise.

Here's my take on what's required:-

1. A wordpress site that has good content with well chosen keywords that has you on page 1 of google in 2 weeks.

2. New original content at least twice a week. Content does not mean you have to be a writing genius, you just have to find someone who is and 'pay them'!

3. Google Adsense is a must, do whatever you can to get your site accepted

4. At least 4 affiliate products throughout your site. Choose these in relation to your niche

5. An email opt in is another must - give them something, FOR FREE to encourage them to leave you there details

6. Have a news letter providing again FREE stuff, twice a week

7. Once every 2 weeks send your list something that you know they need, not crap! This one is not free!! You make dollars this time

8. Do a $200 Google Adwords campaign every 6 weeks

9. Comment on directories to get free links back to your site

10. Write content for other sites in your niche - again free backlinks!

Repeat this for 20 sites

Remember not to send 'crap', sure you want to grow your list but you also want to get them to trust you. It's not 'list building', "it's relationship building"!! The money is not in the list but in the RELATIONSHIP

So... The next email you receive that says something like 'plug and play', 'auto-pilot' BIN IT.

When your 20 sites are up and running, you'll need 20 hours a week to update the content, make some subtle changes etc.

This ain't no get rich quick, it's a business, a job. You need to take some action here.

If I have missed any hidden gems to pull in some more cash, feel free to post them here.

    John, You know what??

Your free post can easily knock out many of 37,47 and $97 value products that these gurus are selling.

I mean this is what the internet marketing is the nutshell, create a site, offer valuable stuff and you will be able to make money. Rinse and repeat this process as many times as you want.

It will help newbies a lot...

Isn't it possible to make $10k with just one site? Let say the main keyword that you're trying to rank for in this niche has a LOT's of searches per day...

Of course you can, anything is possible but you would need a top quality site to see that sort of revenue from just the one. Multiple sites doesn't necessarily mean more work as your doing pretty much the same thing on them all just the content is tweaked slightly.

    1. Rehash some guru product.
    2. Write hyped sales letter
    3. Create WSO
    4. Profit $1000
    5. Create WSO2 named, how I made $1000 in 3 days!
    6. Sell WSO2
    7. Go back to step 1, 20 times.

There's how people actually make money online. 'Value' is so overrated.

Good suggestions. I'd also include social media as part of your list. Connecting your blog to facebook, and twitter via rss, and then building relationships and driving traffic that way can help with this plan. Also helps with SEO, and you can get people to not only like and follow you, but get them to subscribe to your email list, and more.

I think as ever the problem is scaling. I can make a site that earns me $200-$300 a month, but it's a heck of a lot of work. Ploughing the profits back in in order to scale and outsource is a must. I am now looking at how to do that, but it's so tempting to remain a one-man band.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

This is an experiment, move them from week to week, observe your numbers then move them back to what works best.

Like I said, this is not a get quick rich, it's more - Trial - Test - Record Data
When you found where works best move it and keep it. This is the same for your theme. Experiment with others, just because you like the look of it does not mean others do. If you manage to get several sites off the ground swap and change, find what is working then have them all the same or a mixture of 2 or 3.

      Good luck

There are no requirements to get to $10k/month.

Some people do it by creating sites with great content, some do it by advertising on Facebook, some do it by advertising on forums (like Warrior Forum).

There are no guidelines that you must (or even should) follow. Each site is different and should be promoted based on the unique needs of that site.

You're absolutely right, there is no blueprint that works guaranteed, but if you can do all the steps outlined and do them all as well as you possibly can then your chances of success are higher than just writing good copy or facebook ads. Your covering all corners - leveraging. Sure if something like facebook advertising is working, scale up and do more of it, less on other methods.

Each niche is different and will lend itself more to one method than the other.

This can make you money eventually, but you'd need to scale it up quite a bit to do 10k a month.

You can scale it up or ramp it up, 20 well run sites can hit the numbers.

Good SEO, more good backlinks and a clever Adwords campaign and you're there. Of course this is dependent on just how competitive your niche is.
