I'm looking for suggestions to create good quality backlinks to a fairly new site. Its only been up since March 2011 and we've done some cheap linking campaigns and articles. I'm looking for quality inexpensive linking ideas. Any suggestions in general to help drive more traffic to our new site and increase popularity would be great!

Thanks everyone!

    Hey,

I would suggest going with links on an actual high PR page. You should also subscribe to private blog networks such as linkvana and build my rank. Once you have a number of good quality links pointing to your site, you can try lowering the link quality and diversifying.

I agree you should join a private blog network! If you scraped for cash you should do a press release, also submit a quality article to the top article networks, next you need to get some bookmarks using onlywire.com.

Turn your backlinks into an rss feed and submit them to rss aggrivators and you will be good to go! you can use bulkping.com to do this!

There are many method building links. Given limited resources I would go for the winner.

You probably can start doing some free press release.

        • I don't know -- I get the impression that perhaps not on the next major algorithm update but the one after that, Google will crack down on Build My Rank et al.

I don't use BMR because when that day comes I don't want to have that taint. There are so many other ways to gain popularity.

You can try Putting together Link Wheels

You can use squidoo, blogger and more to do this.
For example, lets say you got 10 squidoo pages, when creating these pages include a link to another squidoo page until the pages are all linked up and becomes a wheel. You will also need to include a link of the site you are trying to promote.

So you got all the pages in the wheel pointing to one site (the one you're promoting). And because the pages are linked, their backlink is a bit stronger.

For a new site I always suggest to my clients to start of course a slow and steady backlinking campaign. I suggest starting with some edu links and or social bookmarking links. The social bookmarks gets indexed very quickly and help get the site indexed. From there you can build more and more links as the weeks go on. Hope that helps!

The trick in optimizing search engine marketing and improving search engine ranking is building inbound links. However as more sites with "no-follow" language to links increase, finding quality sites to place back links to your own site is getting to be a problem. The following are four great back link suggestions which if auctioned can make a dramatic difference to your website resultsistributing Press Release, Squidoo.Com, HubPages.com, Yahoo/wiki answers

Well...again...Focus on getting high-quality links from high-quality websites. Guest posting is still an excellent way to generate high-quality incoming links. If possible, try to wrap links in important keywords.
