Gap in the Market? Content Writers on Fiverr

We regularly order content from Fiverr for our niche sites and, in talking to our Content Managers today, they said there seem to be less content writers offering the services we're looking for available. Most of them are extremely busy and we're having to really dig deep to find available writers to write our content.

This got me thinking...if we're struggling to find the writers we need there because they're so busy...there's a great opportunity out there for someone!

Here's what's needed on Fiverr...based on a scarcity of suppliers, if anyone is looking for more work with content writing:

1. Primary Content - 500 words of 100% unique content, a little bit of research required, good grammar. $5
2. Secondary Content - 2 X 400 word articles of 100% unique content, no research required, decent grammar. $5

Whatever your thoughts on the pricing or content that's provided there...we're definitely seeing a gap that some might want to exploit. Have strong outsourced content writers that are under-utilized? Consider selling their services on Fiverr if you can find a way to make some money there. Want to try writing for cash? Get your feet wet while getting paid and try it out!

I can confirm what TryBPO just said - I'm having the exact same difficulties with Fiverr content providers. More writers on Fiverr would definitly be appreciated, and if anyone could use some extra money (who couldn't?) it's not that bad an option, actually.

Anyone with decent grammar can scrab down 800 unresearched words in a matter of very few minutes. I just lack that decent grammar. :p

It's funny...we go through quite a few writers on Fiverr. It seems most of them will start off with excellent deals as far as words per $$, and once they've got enough customers they tend to "move on" and charge more for their services.

We're happy helping those people move up...but we need more there starting off! lol Anyone else struggling with this?

I suppose in the case of starting off writers it is fair enough but I would be sceptical about the quality of the content for $5 as it can't be sustainable in relation to time and you can go to an established agency and get charged x100 and they will say it is reasonable.

    You're right, Nick.

Not to mention the fact that about 50% of the gigs we order that are new, have no feedback, etc. never get completed! Even those from established writers are probably only completed 80-85% of the time. And then...the content that comes back needs to sometimes be edited, re-written, etc.

If I had to do all of that work myself it would NOT be cost-effective...I'd rather pay $10-$15 per article to a decent content house...it would save me money. I have an outsourcing company in the Philippines though, and have some strong writers ordering and editing the content, which is why it's cost effective for me. Otherwise, the lack of delivery and editing time would be way too high.

Yeah, whenever you order content from someone, they always have crazy long turn around times because of all the orders. On that note, I've never seen a quality writing service fail.

There's a gap in the market because a lot of people wouldn't write $5 articles unless they were starving and needed something to eat. At fiverr you get $4 for a gig and then paypal takes their cut so you're getting about $3.88 per article. I know I can get a hell of a lot more money than that by offering services right here on the Warrior Forum.

If you can find a quality writer at those prices consider yourself lucky but I am not at all surprised that there are a lot more buyers for these cheap articles than there are people willing to write them.

I guess it makes sense there are more buyers for those prices than there are content writers, but we've been doing this for a while now and there seems to be more of a shortage than usual.

You'd be surprised at the people we get to write the articles. Some are stay-at-home husbands/wives, unemployed, etc. just looking to make some additional income in Western countries. For those in countries like the Philippines, India, Pakistan, etc. it's a pretty good amount of money and you can get some pretty decent writing done. It's definitely more hit-and-miss, but I've been pleasantly surprised at various times with the quality of the content.

I agree that it is a decent amount of money in some countries and in some cases you can even get better quality from someone in an English as a second language country but generally speaking the higher quality articles are going to cost a little more and you have to do a lot more digging to find the good ones.

I do understand your point that it was easier to find quality content at cheap prices before but the point I'm making is that I would not expect too many good quality writers to work at those rates long term. If they're inundated with orders the obvious way to free up some time without sacraficing income is to raise prices.

It's certainly not impossible to find people to do the work you need and there will always be people willing to do good work for cheap prices. I actually found a pretty good writer on this forum that does quality work at less than $5 per article so they are out there.

I agree, there is definitely a lack of reliable content writers on Fiverr. I have been let down twice out of two requests so far.

Yeah once they figure out how time consuming it is to write two articles for a measly $4, they bail and start doing something else. It sucks, but I don't blame them.

The problem is its so easy to step up quickly to get more money.
I started out on fiverr and got about 10 orders in about as many days, but I've seen some of the stuff that gets written on there (which was partly the reason i started writing - I saw the quality I could offer was so much better), and without sounding pretentious for the time it was taking it wasn't worth the 3.82$ I was getting for it. I have never under delivered on length or quality (usually going +++ on length) because I couldn't face giving back what is often essentially crap with a keyword sprinkled in there, to someone who has paid me for it. So I got away from fiverr and now set my own rates, which I still think is very reasonable for what is no editing required, straight ready to copy, paste, post.

If you have a team ready to edit and fix what you get back then obviously you can afford to get cheaper, lower quality content but I would say its +evens return on spending a little more and not having to spend time fixing it up. Obviously, entirely depends on what you need the content for also. Not to put a downer on it, there is some good quality writers on fiverr still out there waiting!

I think you're absolutely right here. We do have a team that's ready to accept and edit the content as it comes back, but those of our readers who are just starting off might be better off (unless they have quite a bit of time on their hands) paying for better content from the beginning. It's worth doing the math and figuring out much time you're spending editing content and how much extra $$ it would cost you to not have to do it.

Honestly, I hardly ever go after low quality stuff anymore. At least not for my on-page content. With the Panda update it's a much better idead to get some longer articles that are LSI content. You'll have much better luck in the SERPs and pull in mad long tail traffic.

Why would anyone other than a desperate person or poor writer produce 400 words for you for less than $4?

I understand the question and agree personally, but you'd be surprised. What's generally true is that the lower you go, the more hit-and-miss it is or the more editing you'll have to do. Luckily I've got some good writers that order/receive/edit the content that are relatively cheap, so having others write it for them and having them edit the content makes them more efficient.

I do wonder about the quality of the content, though. I'm doing a test where I need some higher-quality content for a site and ordered from TextBroker. They delivered quickly and the quality was awfully good overall. I did order from one "4 star" writer for twice the price of a 3 star and noticed the quality wasn't noticeably better, though. Also, I've had some orders from Fiverr for half the price that are just as good as their 3 star writers. Across the board, though, TextBroker delivered on everything and the quality was higher, on average.

I know there are people here that order $20, $50, even $100+ articles from their writers and know how to use it effectively and make much higher multiples from its use. Kudos to those of you who know how to do that...not me, though. Maybe someday...I like to try new things.
