This Washington Post article declares Google Plus the fastest growing site in history!

Google+ now has 25 million users, according to analytics firm comScore. That's very impressive, especially considering that the site is working off an invitation-only model for expansion.
I still haven't got an invite yet! (I just got an invite from a fellow Warrior, thanks.)

I'm drooling over the advertising possibilities this presents and the possibilities for promoting a website. Do you think AdWords for Google Plus is a possibility?

      Hi esskay85,

It only 1 month old and in limited testing. If they allow too many new users at once they will crash their servers. I'm sure they need time to ramp up and are probably busy as hell trying to keep up with provisioning new servers to take on the daily increase in usage.

This is the fastest growth in history with invitation only. Imagine what it would be like if they made it wide open to the public. Going from zero to 100 million new users in a month is probably more than Google could handle.

On the other hand, it might actually be more popular due to the "exclusivity" than if it was made wide open. If something is free and available in unlimited quantities to everyone then it's not as special.

        Just a thought.

lol, almost guaranteed I imagine. I somehow don't think they're providing the service for free out of the kindness of their hearts

It will certainly open up some opportunities for sure. Another way to get in front of highly targeted prospects and syndicate content... just like Facebook

Google+ can definitely be profitable for Google.

Remember how everyone used to say that advertising on facebook is better than advertising on google because you can target by things like demographics, hobbies, etc.?

Well now google can do that. Which will increase the amount of money people spend on google ads, thus increasing their profits.

Google knows a lot about you. What information you seek, who you email, who you call, what blogs you subscribe to, your age, location, and on and on. All of this is something that advertisers like.

Google Stocks went up 30% !!! after announcing the +1 Social Media Network. That is just amazing! You know how much that is? If you had invested $10.000 in Google stocks the next day it would be worth $13.333 just because Google is taking the fight to Facebook with it's social network +1, all I can say WOW!

      Hi sandrax,

I agree, a lot of folks are excited about Google's new social network.

By the way it is called "Google Plus" or "Google+", not "+1". The Google +1 button is a separate feature of search is integrated with your Google Profile.

That truly is amazing, but keep in mind the size of the userbase that has Google.

Atleast it wasn't a flop like Google Buzz and a few of the other products they've released over the last few years.

Hoping this one sticks around for a while.
