Statcounter and Analytics Very Different Numbers...

I was wondering if anybody has both and as drastically different results? For statcounter on one site it says 60 unique visitors and google analytics says only 30, which makes much more sense for amount of opt-ins I've had. How do I know which is accurate?

    I've noticed the same thing. What I usually do is use another analytics package like piwik just to make sure and the are numbers are similar to GA.

    Google Analytics and Statcounter count the visitors differently. For example, Google Analytics doesn't count the bots' visits, while Statcounter does. Also, Analytics counts visitors using cookies, while Statcounter is based on IP addresses.

    Generally, I use my analytic info to check the progress over a certain period of time, so even if it's not exactly accurate (none will be), it's not that important - I use it more as a tweaking tool.
