There is actually no limit in to it. You can go link begging as many as you want and can.

any reasonable number is fine. By reasonable I mean less than 100.

In terms of generating backlinks into your site, I think there are no limitations as long as the backlinks came from other related sites that are high authoritative and has pr rankings.

I'd like to know the same. I'm sure Google will take note if a site gets 10k backlinks in one night. It's obviously automated and in the long run I can't see it doing well.

But I bet, if there is a limit, nobody knows it beyond wild guesses. Also, knowing Google, they won't just have a simple number attached to it. They'll have other factors such as "how many links does this site/niche/community normally generate?" and "is large fluctuation normal in that niche?"
And especially if you get more backlinks than visitors per unit of time that will definitely raise some flags.
It always depends on the context and other factors - never just a number.

So, basically, the best thing is to be consistent about your link building and try and make it look as organic and natural as possible.

I don't really think there's a set limit. However, it'd probably seem a little suspicious for a new site to suddenly get a large number of backlinks. If you're going to be pushing a lot of backlinks each day, at least try to keep it a little consistent.

On the flip side, there's plenty of sites that go "viral" and face zero issues. Though I'm pretty sure Google is smart enough to differentiate natural, viral links from 5,000 forum profiles. (For example.)

Generally speaking if you are manually creating links, then there's no amount that you need to worry about. Technically speaking there's no way you are going to create enough backlinks manually that could cause any real significant trouble.

Just focus on quality over quantity though, don't just start posting hundreds of links on crappy sites or you will be wasting your time.

I agree with what others have already said. I wouldn't go out and get 10k links tomorrow and none for the next three days. The best advice I could give to you, advice that I have given other people is this.

We are trying to replicate a naturally occuring event which happens overtime, backlinking in an unnatural way, meaning as fast as possible.

SO, we have to make it look as natural as possible. Meaning... Don't get 20 links one day, 1000 the next 100 the following day and then get 5 the next day and etc.

Also, even though you didn't ask try to change your anchor text too.

A site that has a million back links and all of them have the same anchor text does'nt look to natural either.

In short, use your common sense and you should be fine.

Set your own trends, whatever you can follow, like starting from 1 link per day then moving to 10 links per day after 1 weak.

    Thanks

Check the number of backlinks your competitors have for your keywords. Check the first 5 - 10 websites and build more backlinks than each one of them.
