16 Days to PR3

How a complete NOOB to SEO got PR3 in 16 days on a brand spanking new domain:

1. Backlinks: I put it on about 8 directory sites, 6 mid range PR blogs, and 2 high PR blogs, put links in the sig on 2 do follow forums (one is WarriorForum)
2. I filled out the site meta data correctly, using words that described my site (no tools, just common sense)
3. I put articles on my homepage, these articles used keywords in them that were related to my site (no tools, just common sense)
put a new one up every 3-4 days
4. Created a site map which I verified in google webmaster tools and uploaded there.

Thats all!

Was a very easy and painless process... spent about 5minutes a day putting up a single backlink, and about 10 minutes on the articles which I paraphrased from other articles and informative forum posts i found over the internet. (Yeah I know, not the most legit way but oh well)

Also helped that a toolbar update came quick... but if it didn't, I would think I would have a higher PR# following these same steps over a longer period.

The site is in my sig and I built it mainly as a courtesy to everyone on Warrior Forum and other people I do business with, its a free do follow business/website directory and is PR3 on the actual link pages as well as the home page.

Anyone hit me up if you think there is an important SEO strategy I am missing out on OR if you have questions that are more in detail about how I did this.

    Can't see it myself.

If it's that easy to do... Do it again because I reckon that was pot luck mate.

Look at the site... its PR3 and then check the WHOIS registered date... and just look at it lol, Business List Directory - Free Listing, Increase Your Traffic, SEO, DoFollow Backlink, Human Reviewed , i did the graphics in paint in like a minute.

I will try doing it again on another site I am working on pretty soon but I don't want to advertise the URL out there yet...

If I can reproduce the results, how much would you pay me to do a site for you? lol

Well it's PR3 so I'll give you that... But then again, I never doubted that.

What I questioned is if this could be done again in the same time frame.

If you can consistantly do this again and again then my friend... You are onto something.

Till then I'm calling it pot luck... But I'd love you to prove me wrong

PR gets updated at random times, when Google runs it's update engines So you did happen to get in at a good time, but your other sites might take until the next update (which could be 9 months as it has been that long before)

But the actual number is not such a big deal if it has Authority in Google

Being that it's an aged domain from 2006 might have something to do with it too.

How is it aged? I bought it new, nobody had it at all before me.

To be honest, I don't keep track of where I posted the backlinks, so some may have not even been posted nor do they even show up in back link check tools. In google webmaster tools, backlink section says it has no data to report. So I have no clue which are working for me and which aren't.

Off the top of my head... I want to say Jade Directory, Bank ICICI - Social Bookmarking Site - Your Source for Social News and Networking (which was a mistake lol... IMO worthless although its showing up), Business Faves, the other web board I am on is Joomla.org which is the CMS i built the site with.... thats all I can pop off the top of my head.

I made it to Alexa lol, first site ever! Rank 12,153,081

Something I didn't mention before... I listed my site in like 20 sites that create a page for you like statbrain.com and builtwith.com to help get google to find it faster....

Also I put a Google +1 button on it and got 4 +1s (one is my own lol)

Not sure if any of that info could make a difference.

I agree with James, you've been extremely lucky. If 100 sites did exactly what you did, only 1 or 2 sites (if that) would achieve anything near PR3.

    It's a fluke.

I experienced the same thing (a domain that went to PR4) with a domain that has barely any backlinks at all. I'm assuming this is going to sort itself out when PR updates again in the near future.

Ok, i saw many of you dont belive this guy, But i trust him, cause i've got the same experience. Here's what i did:

About 1.5 months ago, i bought a Domain, a bounch of them...
In the next 2-3 days i added about 16 Articles, Well performed, worked on site SEO and made about 200 links, but at that time i didnt PING any of them, it was my first experience, later i found here that its better to PING links too...
i created........ for, and i start to Ping every post every time i posted a new one, Alexa was N/A, after 2 weeks was about 26.000.000 and after Google update PR, i saw that my site is PR2 and Alexa Below 2.000.000
How i said, this was my experiment, cause i was looking to pay for SEO, but Indian guys goes crazy, asked me about 12-15.000$ a year for 1 domain.... and they wasnt able to give 100% of results...
Yeap, i forgot to mention, my keywords are very High Comp. but i took a low comp. keyword and now my site is on second page on Google....
So, its possible, i heard many people here, who are trying to make fun from nubies, but if you want results, just keep work right and you'll get them...

Later ill make a WSO, but first i wanna do the same with second Domain, to make sure this will work 100%, and if will work, ill sell for 1$, not because of Money, but to help other who wanna start and are afraid......

    Good Luck

There's no luck involved, it's just the power of an aged domain. It wouldn't work with a brand new domain that's never been previously registered.

The domain was first registered in 2007
Its was a fluke, that Google did a PR export 3 weeks after you started.

definitely domain age and maybe some old links because the SEO the OP spelled out doesn't give a PR 3...much less in 16 days...fluke...not saying it didn't happen...just can't be repeated with a new domain...that's all...

...but congrats on the PR 3...

...too bad PR is worthless...but it does look cool...

As others have said already you purchased an aged domain name (April 2006) See the WayBack Machine

No one is trying to burst your bubble but if getting a PR3 was that easy everyone would have one.

Additionally PR doesn't mean a thing in you're not getting converting traffic. But you've got a head start on the competition so keep building your backlinks and traffic.
