I'll be keeping my eyes glued to this one.

Just curious, why not outsource to an oDesk contractor or something? You could have had them genuinely working on your site over the entire 3 days at that price (or me for an entire month!).

Instead of a bunch of different people punching your URLs into their mass link-building softwares and clicking "go" and getting paid $4.

Anyway, interested to hear the results. My anticipations would be awesome rankings for a week or so and then a drop back down in the SERPs.

For my brand new sites i always start them with fiverr gigs, stuff like social bookmarking, directory submissions, blog commenting, forum posting etc, just a nice base layer of links from many different domains. I find this is a good way to jump up a few pages in the search engines.

I usually only spend about $30, but in this case I did link building for 5 pages, not just the root domain.

I used to use odesk / freelancer but I find they charge $30 for something that will only cost me $10 on fiverr. Also I have found a few great fiverr gigs that I order over and over. In this case though I went a bit over board in ordering.

After my fiverr experiment - I will begin some better quality link building. I just wanted to see where $95 would get my site after 3 days.

I suspect if I waited a week or two it would climb a lot higher as some people on fiverr probably wont even deliver after 3 days

There are some great vfm gigs on fiverr if you know where to look. I always use a particular gig for bookmarking longtail keyword posts - and those posts stick and bring me multiple times the £3 spent on them. Proper link building I've had less success with there. I'll be interested to see how your site does with just fiverr gigs pushing it along, initially.

Hey Jeremy,

Your statement about getting something done for $10 on fivver, rather than $30 by outsourcing sites is true in hindsight.

But it is not always about the NUMBER of links you get, it is about the quality and method that the links are retrieved.

Sure, if you are comparing fiver gigs to "SEO" outsources whome you have said "build a million blog comment links", the quality may be the same.

However to get the BEST value out of anything in SEO, you should actually delve a lot deeper into the methods that your links are being created...

Let's take blog comments as an example, you need to develop your own strategy of finding and commenting on blogs, what blogs do you go after? what should you put in your comments? how to find dofollow blogs? how do you increase your approval rate?

Once you come up with an awesome method, you can just tell your outsourcer to follow this strategy to the tee. Make it clear and concise and you will by one step ahead of everyone who is pushing buttons on automated softwares for a quick non-permanent ranking boost.

I have also just responded to your PM about outsourcing, here is my response so that it may benefit others in the forum:

Hey Jeremy,

oDesk is my outdsourcing site of choice, although Freelancer, Elance, etc are all still great networks.

The success is really determined by how WELL you advertise, select, and manage your employees.

Personally I always put a line somewhere in my ad saying "what is the answer of 3+3" or soemthing similar.

This actually weeds out about 75% of automated application because I ignore everything that doesn't contain the answer (you'll be surprised at the number of people that don't read your application!).

Once I do this, I then select my 4 favourite for the job and split test them (give them the exact same job and convey to them that they are on a trial basis).

I monitor their work over the week, ie; speed, accuracy, cost, etc. and then it is usually very obvious which is the 'golden employee'.

So basically it is all about how you outsource, not the actual place you outsource too.

A lot of people are actually applying to jobs from all the different outsourcing networks anyway so there is a bit of overlap.

Just stick to the one you are comfortable with.

My method does take a lot more effort, but the results usually speak for themselves.

I use the same trick to rank long tail keywords with posts. It is an easy way to get backlinks to your posts and help them rank for some not-so-competitive keywords.

I see what you are doing, basically come up with a good method to gain backlinks and then outsource the method to some one else.

I actually did try pretty hard to find a quality blog commenter, I went through about 10 people before I found one with decent english who left relevant comments. I was so happy, I offered her double what I paid her initially to do a similar gig but she was so busy with other work she had no time.

Maybe when I get back from camping I will try to find another good blog commenter

Yea good idea.

I would actually prefer to hire a great VA who can learn quickly and shows a lot of initiative than any ordinary "blog commenter".

A "blog commenter" suggests he already has his OWN methods to get things done.

I am betting his methods are quick and easy to do, rather than thought out and strategised. After all, he is trying to make a buck!

A great VA will generally follow your intructions a lot better as long as they are set out with loads of detail while being easy to follow.

Blog commenting was just an example. Diversity is the key, outsourcing to various different people to gain a variety of different types of backlinks on a consistent basis is the way to go.

GREAT SUCCESS!

I got back from Camping and saw my main keyword was already on the top of the second page for my main keyword which is not a really easy keyword to get and will bring me some nice money when I get it on the first page

Rankings
- Main keyword - top of the second page
- Secondary keywords using pages to target (1900-23 000 exact monthly searches)
  keyword 1 - top of second page
  
  keyword 2 - no where to be found (23 000 exact searches)
  
  keyword 3 - third page (9000 exact monthly searches)
  
  keyword 4 - top of second page
Looks like a nice start to ranking my website after only 4 days for the link building to take effect. I spent $95 and four people still have not delivered so I still have some links coming in. Also I find it takes a while for the links to take full effect.

Traffic

I forgot to put analytics on, but I tossed it on last night, so far today I have had 12 visits to the website. That's pretty good for not even having a first page ranking. Once I get a few keywords on the first page I suspect I will bring in a few hundred visitors a day.

Future link building

I will be paying for some better quality link building like article writing, article submission, guest posts, blog rolls etc

Yeah I wont link to the exact providers for that exact reason but I will share the types of gigs I order

social bookmarking
directory submissions
submitting articles to top article directories (I wrote three quickly and had others submit them to the top article directories)
blog commenting
forum profile links

I realize a lot of those are short term links, but it helps catapult my site to the top, then I get some quality links to keep it there

Some one else asked about competition

Top site is PR1 with only 83 links to the domain, but an exact match .com

Second is PR4 700 backlinks

Then a mix of PR0-PR5 with about 50-1000 backlinks

Great results!! now the key is to continue link building in somewhat the same fashion and amount to continue rising to the top of page one.

The problem most people have with Fiverr is that as the gigs are once-off backlinks, they use them to get to page one and then they abandon all SEO. - (Depending on the niche and the competition) results can slide without consistent SEO efforts.

Keep us updated every week or so. I'd be interested to see the progress.

If you've got alot of sites, then fiverr is very helpful as outsourcing starts to add up. I've just used seomasterx for 2.0 link pyramid, scrapebox blast and article submission. All the links are live and look good, so I am pleased. Would've cost alot more to have this done elsewhere. Seller is helpful and professional. Too soon to see results as I just had it done. Also, he offers buy 2 gigs get one free. Since I've got 10 mfa sites, I couldn't resist.

These keywords were easier to rank for than most. I was surprised at how quickly the site made money, and how easily I got first page rankings. The last time I made a site like this it took me 3 months to get multiple first page rankings, then google dumped my site and it took me 3 more months to get back to the top (it paid off though as that site is making me good money now!)

SO rather than a great success it was in fact quite a failure. You never got to the front page based on your quote and it fell in no time. by posting great success and money earned you made it seem like this actually worked for you but then...... this

I wouldn't have been because from what you stated earlier one of the top sites was a PR1 with very few backlinks and the front page also had some PROs . This was a drop dead easy serp.

Your thread and your posts are misleading. People not reading it carefully will get the impression that Fiverr is good for SEO and flush their money down the drain but in fact your own results with the little data you have shown indicates that your initial $95 investment wasn't good even in very weak serps.

Misleading to a forum where they have the slightest idea of how to make money with SEO, no.

He laid out what he used with Fiverr, and he laid out what he had to do to push it to the top.

It's not his fault he picked a good niche, is it?

  Misleading to anyone who knows any SEO. Success is not defined by getting on page two and then falling from there. MY point is crystal. the initial $95 Fiverr spend WHICH IS WHAT THE THREAD ADVERTISES did not get him even in a weak serp to the top.

Guys,Just a WARNING if using fiverr especially for backlinks make sure you get them done correctly i have been conned twice and by two different top rated sellers in fiverr promising so many backlinks when they were just directory listings,noticed by my coach.So make sure what your getting.

Would love to know which gigs you used for these results. I came across this thread in a google search for Fiverr link building gigs that people have had good experiences with.

There seems to be a big emphasis on quantity over quality on fiverr from what I can see. I have used this gig a couple of times recently though and it seems to be pretty decent: fiverr(dot)com/insurgo/create-45-high-pr-links-to-your-website

Yeah, I kind of skimmed through the last part of the thread and saw the earnings. From what I know about Fiverr, it seemed pretty impossible that the backlinks directly related to the earnings. (Then I went back and read it a bit more.)

Fiverr links are a waste of time. Not a long term link building strategy. Just hire a guy in PH and train him to follow a step a step blueprint, someone you trust and can depend on. However interesting thread Jeremy.
