Getting Links under same IP?

Do you guys think that getting links under same IP would help in SERP?
For an example, write many articles and publish on same directories and using same blog platforms gonna improve SERP along with good profile links under high PR domains? Any thoughts.....

So far, I had done around 50+ article submissions and blogging on around 10-15 domains(sites-article directories & free blogging platforms). Still, I am on page # 2, I am competing with around 26,000,000 sites.

Links under the same IP are quite common and can be quite
good. Has nothing to do with same IP or not.

You are not competing with 26,000,000 sites.

Having links with same IPs is quite better and quite bad.
And, you also have to improve your link building strategy than just sticking to the same old routine you are doing. You cannot just reach page number 2 in a matter of days, it is a long process even when you are competing on a low competitive range.

You need to have unique IPs one way links, otherwise its of no use. You can have only 3/4 same IP links but no more than that. But there is a secret way and proper strategy to use it which will give plenty of link juice even from same IPs and that you need to learn or have to figure it out.

Sorry, but you are competing with 10 sites... and right now they are winning.

I love this take on this!

It's a great way to look at things. Puts it all in perspective.

Agreed. If there are any keywords that have 26,000,000 (serious) competitors than I'd be very interested to see that!

My strategy has always been add dedicated IPs to my other websites I use to link to the money site. In my mind (not sure if this is true), it appears as a bunch of unique websites are linking to the money site rather than one website with different domain names linking in.

I just use a cheap hosting service and buy dedicated IPs for each domain name.

Very few sites in the real world on the real web for real people doing real
stuff are on a dedicated unique server.

It just makes hosting sellers seem like they are doing people a favor by
sticking it to the common man.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

People need to actually know what IP, DNS, etc. actually mean.

It varies from checking service to checking service, but check out

Thanks for posting the spyonweb tool,. I never saw that one before. I used it to check my money site and it appears that my strategy is working because none of my websites are associated with my money site at all.

So if spyonweb is correct, Google doesn't even know I'm the owner of the autoblogs linking to my money site....

Perhaps you have never read anything about SEO, but having a large number of unique linking IPs is highly correlated with ranking higher in the SERPs. Go ahead and read the SEOmoz ranking factors if you don't believe me.

If rankings were as easy as getting a ton of links from a single IP SEO companies wouldn't need to exist and Google would be out of business.

The fact that people are saying that its OK in this thread simply blows my mind. We aren't in 1999 anymore and the search engines take IP addresses into account with rankings. Can you get links from the same IP? Sure. Should you expect that it will help your rankings, no. You may experience some benefit but if you go over board or plan on this as your only linkbuilding method don't expect amazing results.

Internal links are the same IP, and are golden.

People just confuse the issue, as usual.

In fact, as I have said many times, DELETE YOUR SIG LINKS. I would
hate for google to penalize you for having too many links from
      the same IP.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who says nonsense about same IP
links, and has a sig link here, is blowing smoke. Or inhaling.

      Case closed, next case.

Your ranking seems nothing to do with same IP or not.But i think unique linking IPs would get a better effect.

I think such backlinks add value to your SERP because a backlink is a backlink, coming from same IP or different IP, that is its characteristic but still it will be considered as a backlink.
