How long does it normally take for Google to reflect your SEO changes in their search results? I've made quite a few changes to target a key word and I know Google has been to my site, but I have not moved up or down in the search results for that keyword.

It normally takes atleast a week or two to see good increases. Sometimes its just Google Dance and not a permanent change in rankings.

What do you base that on? Google is under no obligation to recognize
      any site.

The question cannot be answered. We don't know you, your history, your
site's history, your content, your niche, your competition, your site's
      authority, your competition's authority,....nothing.

True, Google is under no obligation. I am basing it on the time it takes for our link building tactics to yield results for an average (2 year old domain) with a decent amount of backlinks.

In my experience, it usually doesn't take that long - sometimes as little as a day or two. That said, your site probably won't settle into a (mostly) stable rank for several months.

It normally takes a month if you are asking on how long would you appear on their SERPs..

First changes you can observe on your website is the traffic. You can also check if your website is always crawled by Google everyday. If so, then your website is healthy and have good incoming links.

For SERP results, it would take about 2 months onwards before you finally show up on their search results. It mostly depends on the link building task that you do.

Sometimes it only take about 24 hours, sometime it takes months depending on what niche.

It is complicated, you may never know unless you check it every day.

Yeah it could take a couple weeks or so, just focus your efforts on something else in the meantime instead of checking every day, it will happen.

I like this answer! Focus on something else! It's easy to make changes and then sit there by your computer, checking the serps every 2 hours. Talk about driving someone insane!

SEO efforts should be a continuous process so it is best that you just continue with your SEO efforts and eventually the search engines will be able to catch on your changes. There is no specific time table with regards to that though.

It would probably take not more than 3 to 6 months in getting your website to rank and appear in the top SERPS of the search engine...

I have noticed that once you have done your On Page SEO or made any other changes to your site then usually you have to do some link building for that page(s) just to make sure that the Google crawler will find the new content quickly and display it in SERPs. This usually takes 2-3 weeks at the most. Sometimes it happens that even though you have the new content on your site, the old content is showing so you need to be patient but after 3 weeks you should start worrying.

I would say a good estimate is 2 weeks to 1 month depending on the factors. 1 month is a good general number to assume so you don't get too antsy with your results not appearing within the first week or two after making your SEO changes.
