New to Adsense. Basic rules for my account/site?

I am brand new to adsense.

I know the basic rules Google puts out, but they are quite vague.

My question. If I have a one page site, and put adsense on it, what else is required?

What I have so far is an informational article and an offer from Amazon. I added adsense on both sides of the page.

Thanks- Shawn

P.S. If google decides it doesn't approve of your site, does it just stop showing the adsense on that site, or does it affect your whole account?

What I was hoping for was some feed back from users that google isn't specific on. Like what you need for content on your site. I was told recently they are cracking down on 'sites without enough valuable content.'

      Can anyone be more specific?

      Thanks, Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

You want to ensure that you keep your site content relevant, and targeted to the keyword/s that you are focusing on. The more specific you can be with your content based on your keyword, the better chance you have that Google will place "highly relevant" ads on your site.

Also ensure that you follow the Google TOS and make your site informative and useful to your audience. DO NOT overuse Adsense on your site, and make sure you look carefully at placement of your adsense ads.. This can make a big difference to your earnings over time.

If you have more than one page on your site, try to optimise each page according to a specific keyword. That way, each page will have highly relevant and targeted ads in accordance with your content.

Also, how are you building traffic to your site? Are you using PPC or article marketing? I have sent you a PM with a good resource for your to read on building content websites (or blogs) and building quality long-term traffic through article marketing.

I have built up a large portfolio of niche websites over the last few years, and found this guide very helpful in explaining what was required to achieve lasting results. There are also case studies outlined which clearly show you what to do to make your site/s successful.

I also personally use all of the programs that are mentioned in the guide, and have found this led to a huge spike in traffic and resulting profit.

Anyway - hope you find this helpful

    Simon.

A one-page site probably won't cut it with Google (or anyone else for that matter). Add a privacy policy page, a contact us page, a blog, and above all, add more pages to your site overall.

You might find my article on Adsense Optimization Tips helpful.

Essentially you want a completed, established, site with reasonable content that is optimized for a narrow set of keywords and that has appropriate privacy and TOS statements.
