hi, I don't know if you have experienced this situation.
My site is about 2 months old, and I still study to do seo work.
Now, I open google using firefox and search my targeted keyword, my site is in the NO.3 position. It's amazing.
But, when I use IE and do the same thing, I'm depressed becuase my site is in the 5th page.
Then, I checked my serp by tool online, I found my site ranked 45th in google. I think it is the true position.

I don't know why would that happen. Have you seen this?

It could be that your default browser is logged in to your google accounts and you made a +1 at your site. That's why it shows up on first page. Try logging out and search again and see =D

      Thanks for your reply, xylement!
I never logged in any google account through this computer(I login google using another one) and never made +1 at my site. It's funny.
and I use another computer(I only use this one to login to my personal account), it's normal, my site is in the 5th page.

When you will open your link again and again in the firefox then after few clicks you will have your desired website against that specific keyword usually on the top of 1st page. clear the browser search cookies and you will find the exact location of your website.

I think this might be the reason. I always open my site using firefox.
But I've cleared my firefirex's cookies several times, still the same. it is a little strange.

          Thank you, methew!

What keyword are you ranking for? That's the real issue.

I have the answer my friend.

I have faced the same thing, actually google try to record your preference i.e when you go to a site again and again, they record it either through your IP or browser cookie, and then they serve you, your FAVORITE SITE, that is why I am a fan of google, they do so many things just to help their customers, that is why they are no. 1, thanks BIG G
