Can you share a few more details about your website? Forum, Blog, Article Directory etc?

  • Can you give us more details so we can assess your problem. Visitors or page views do not usually mean instant conversion.

  • It all happening because you have not placed ad on right place to your site . Optimize you ads . Use google adsense forum to find the better placement for site

If visitors do not have any commercial intent when coming to your site (i.e. they are just looking for information rather than planning a buying decision of some kind) then you will see these kinds of figures unfortunately. More info needed though.

Yeah, I can see how that could be a problem. Adsense seems a poor fit for your site. Apart from the fact your placement and colour scheme could be better, there is a bigger problem: in my region at least, there are NO relevant ads displaying. I mean NOTHING about games whatsoever! One ad was about trailers (as in, the thing you pull behind your car!), another was about refrigerators! Either your content is not strongly keyword-targetted enough, or there are simply no advertisers relating to your content. One thing would be to load your content more heavily with generic words like "games, video games" etc.

But that would be cheap and nasty. You would probably do much better with Amazon affiliate links/ads for the games in question. But of course, if the games are not out yet then you can't advertise them.

I know a lot of games sites make money from piggybacking on games launches. So you have an opt-in on every page of your site that says "Be the first to know when xxxx is coming out" and you send out a regular mailing with the new releases, with affiliate links of course, deals etc. (just make sure the affiliate program you use allows email marketing).

Dunno, that's the first thing that comes to my mind anyway. You would be building a list long-term, for years down the line, because games enthusiasts buy lots of games, right? My first thought is you could make some healthy revenue that way, especially after your list starts to hit three- or four-figure membership.

TONS of advice to be found about list-building on the Main Forum here on WF, have a look over there at some old threads, or start a thread on the subject. Just be a little careful about revealing your site etc. There are plenty of hawks there too...

Don't use that banner format, use 336x280 somewhere in the middle of the post. And for the frontpage, put 160x600 adsense ad in sidebar, and blend it totally with your site.

If you have a new big website with lots of pages and it was just indexed by the major search engines like Google and Yahoo, you will have a lot of visitors and pageviews but they could all be spiders and not real visitors, hence you see no clicks because search engine spiders unfortunately don't click Just a thought!

That has fooled many a new webmaster, but I doubt that would amount to 5000 impressions monthly. Also, I see the OP has quite an active community on his site (a fair amount of comments etc.) so I guess there IS some action going on there. I think the reasons we have outlined above (poor contextual ad matching, poor ad placement) probably have the most to do with it.

yep, in my experience, your Adsense ads absolutely have to be relevant or your ctr will be horrible. Tackle that problem first by adding your keywords to the title, H1 or H2 headers within your content, lots of other related and relevant keywords in text, and maybe some pics that are named with your keywords and the alt tags as well. Make it as obvious as possible what your page is about without being too spammy and usually, the ads will become relevant.

other than that, your niche and your visitors intentions have a huge impact as well. Niches that focus on common issues that people need solutions for or even hobbies where people expect to spend some money from time to time seem to make the best adsense sites. Niches that focus on very specific free information are less likely to draw "buying minded" visitors.

update: i made the keywords more generic towards "gaming" and ads actually are relevent sometimes so THANKS for that little advice. I now have 20 clicks and made almost 2 dollars for the day

im just worried about my placement.... i have it saying download here, then below is my download link, and below that is my ads... i hope this is legal because sometimes the ads say DOWNLOAD this and it may be missleading betafootage.com if you can check it

Yeah, try changing the color scheme of the ads. Match background color at least. Ipersonally don't like the ad placement.

Also I am only seeing ads that are NOT related to your site.

is it illegal to place it like that though? im not telling them to click on the ad, the ad is just below all of my post content. the download link is above the ad

No wonder you're not making money. I had to look for your ads to find them. Your placement is bad.

-Get rid of that 468x60 banner.
    -Use theme other than default
    -Use the 336x280 or 160x600.

I changed the ads to the 336x280. Is there anything else in your opinion I should change? I use image ads because Ive tried every single text placement with blending text etc and it doesnt get as many hits as the image

I would definitely change the size of the ads and the placement. The ads should be right there where they are clickable.

With an impressions number you are definitely displaying ads. Chances are if you preposition them, or add more/different types you can start getting a good CTR.

Those 336x280 text-based ads above the fold do wonders for a CTR.
