Category name in URL?

I'm using WordPress for my sites and I remove the WP category names from my WordPress URLs. Makes for shorter and nicer looking URLs.
Is this a mistake?

I mean, if your category name contains the targeted keyword, then would having the category name in the URL of every post bring you any SEO benefits?

For example, if the targeted keyword is red tomatoes, which one of these URLs would be better:

http://domain.com/red-tomatoes-category/how-to-grow-red-tomatoes-post
http://domain.com/how-to-grow-red-tomatoes-post

Obviously, the first URL contains the kewyord two times as opposed to one time for the second URL. This is because the first URL has the category name in it and the category name is optimized by the site admin to contain the keyword in it.

But does this bring you any SEO benefits?

I would do the second version. It seems like most SEO experts go this route nowadays. also it looks clean in the serps.

Yes Second one is Best . There is No need of category mention in the URL.

So go For Second One it is Best.

Yeah, that seems to be a popular rule, but what if the category name contains the targeted Keyword in it???

Would this be an exception where it's actually advisable to have the category name in the URL?

Yes there are Some Websites..Which Generally Show Category Also In their Posts.
