I hope this is the right place to put this. I put a new page on my Real Estate site labeled "Partners" and am wanting to use it to link exchange with people. Is this a bad idea or good? Also if you to want to exchange links with me, please send me a PM.

Yeah some people do link exchanges it is not a horrible idea. I would email some other websites related to your niche and see what comes up. Guest posting is good as well. I would try doing that as well.

The value of different backlinks is highly debated. Overall, I think that the general consensus of many IMmers is that Google will give you 'credit' for most backlinks as long as they are able to find them and they lead to a page on your site.

Yes, a backlink with your keyword as the anchor text helps tell Google that you site is related to the topic of the anchor text, so the result is usually that you are given 'credit' for searches of that particular keyword.

But, a lot of people have trouble getting comments approved if they use SPAMmy looking keywords for their names. So, a lot of people use something like 'Noah from (keyword)'. For instance, your name could be 'Justin from Utah Real Estate'. Your keyword is still in the anchor text, just with additional words as well. But, this method is debated as well.

There are ways to get your anchor text included when you are doing blog comments, you just have to be creative. Check out my method - it's not a WSO, it's just a video of how I do it...

Any link is (usually) better than no link, keyword in the anchor text or not.
