    Do you mean manual searching?

-Use firefox browser and install add-on SEO QUAKE.
-Use google search as a default in firefox.
-type: YourNiche Blog "powered by wordpress"

Just replace "YourNiche" with your own niche. In essence, if your niche is travel or lets say travel insurance, you will simply type: travel insurance blog "powered by wordpress".

then a heap of results will come out and then select a site and use SEOQUAKE to check pagerank, if it is do-follow, how many OBL etc..

    How it helps.

Yep. That's true. blogs and forums. I also have it but when i do high quality link building, I do it manually using just firefox and SEO quake as my companion.

Usually I do about 20-40 quality backlinks of PR6+ manually from different sites.

You can still do it manually. I just use Scrapebox to quickly find PR 4+ sites that have no more than 10-15 outgoing backlinks. SEO Quake can't do that anywhere near as fast as Scrapebox.

      Hi,

If you don't want to buy Scrapebox, which I have heard is great, try Comment Kahuna.

You can get quite a few high PR blogs using it. It is also free!

      Best wishes,

      Ruth

      1) Install SEO for Firefox and Set it to Highlight NoFollow Links on a page so you'll know if they're nofollow or not.

2)Find a blog (Wordpress or otherwise) with a lot of people dropping comments to build links. Visit all these sites which the comments are linking to and check their PR (alternatively, you can use a tool to do this automatically). If any of these pages have descent pagerank (PR5 or better) then you know that whoever owns that site is halfway descent at getting DOFollow backlinks to their site....otherwise the page they were building links to wouldn't have good PR.

      3) Take the page that has High PR and stuff it into SEO Spyglass. Find out where that page is getting all its links from in order to get score that Hi PR rating. Once the list is loaded, do an "Update All Links in Workspace" and uncheck all options except for the "Check PR of Page" (or whatever the function is called). Run the the check. [Note: you'll need to get some semi-private proxies for this and put them into SEO Spyglass's built-in proxy rotator...otherwise Google will put you in time out where checking PR is concerned and the tool will return a bunch of false "N/A" results, proxies prevent this problem from happening]

      4) Reorganize the list of backlinks based on the PR of the page the link is coming from, highest to lowest. Click the little link that pops up next to the URL in SEO Spyglass to open the page in your default browser (which should be firefox)

      5) QUICKLY scan the page to see if the links you can score are NoFollow. Since you installed SEO for Firefox NoFollow links should glow red. If it is NOT NoFollow, find a way to drop the link. Most of the time you'll have to register for an account. If all the links people are getting on that page are NoFollow you have to determine for yourself it it's worth dropping the link. In this situation I'll drop a comment if it's a standard Wordpress-style comment box. If I have to register for the site directly, use Discus, or anything else, I don't do it. Not worth my time to set up accounts just to get a NoFollow comment.

      6) Wash-Rinse-Repeat

Yes mate, I am using Scrapebox also. But I have a list of about 377 Pr 1-3 blogs (on page PR). However, they are mixed, do-follow and no-follow. But still works to balance the backlinks. I usually use scrapebox add-ons do/no follow checker. works fine.

Search for the highest traffic blogs, they often have high page rank, other than that, I find it easier to outsource.

Download SEO Quake for Firefox. Then type a search term such as inurl:.edu into Google. Underneath each result will be the PR of the website or blog. Search through the High PR ones until you find one that will accept your backlink.
I know, this can be very tedious, but also very exciting when you hit a PR7 blog set on auto approve!!! Obviously there are some other search terms that can be used to lessen your searching.
