Hi,

I'm not a pro in SEO and am looking to target a specific keyword - aiming to at least gain a position on first page of Google if not the first/second rank of first page.

These are the results I got (attached), they are all from first page for my keyword. I'm not sure whether it will be easy or moderately difficult to achieve a position on first page. My software says it will be very difficult. I need some expert opinion on this and few tips to achieve the goal will also be more than welcome.

Hard to say without seeing the actual keyword, every backlink in that screenshot could be junk or could be PR5+ links.

Presumably not very hard. Should be doable within the span of 2-3 months if you do proper SEO. That said, Yukon is right about not knowing what types of links they are. That said, judging from the PR of the pages ranking, I doubt the links are very strong.

Thanks for the replies. I did some more research on backlinks of the no.3 site. Here are the results.

That guy has used some blackhat / auto-commenting tool to get that much backlinks and majority of them are from blog comments. Many of them from spam-filled comment areas..

70% of backlinks are from PR 0 sites. Most high PR is 5 and only about 10 backlinks from there..

    Few questions:

    * Should I used the same backlinks that this guy used to promote my site?

    * If I get less backlinks than him but majority of them are of high quality, will I be able to outrank him?

    * Can this be done in one month?

    Awaiting more replies..
