Simple Question on EMDs

Just a quick question for you guys that have been doing this a while.
I found some pretty decent keywords that meet my criteria, only problem is all the EMD .com, .net, .org are taken.
However some of the E-M-D .com, .net, .org are available.
Is there any reason not to take the dash EMDs?
If all normal EMDs are gone is this an indicator of future competition?
I found some nice keywords, but don't want to create a bad url and not be able to rank.
