I have been experimenting with different spots and ads for a while, but never really got any good results. And that was one of the reason for me to basically give up on it. But then, last week, I decided to do this and I am glad I did.

Last week, my ad sense earnings were down a bit due to a bit lower traffic, so I decided to move things around. I made on change and that was instead of having a text adsnese block on my sidebar (top 300x250), I added an image adsense block. Boy oh boy, did that little change mad e a difference!

All I have to say is wow! It truly does pay off if you can experiment and figure out the best spot for ad placement and the best kind of ad blocks (text, image, big, small, etc), you can expect some pretty amazing results.

My earning increased dramatically and based on the data from my account, I can see that it in fact is due to this change.

So, I just wanted to share this news, hoping it would be motivational for others in same situation. I know I was one of those that didn't really think these little changes would make that much of a difference. I mean, I basically went from $50 a day to almost $100 a day with that one change.

Hope this will be helpful and motivating for some of you guys.

Great! Image ads gets more click attraction than the usual text ads. But it depends, text ads do good on an article(or mostly text) sites. Image ads does well on sites that have lots of pics...this is based on my experience

Yes, image ads often more attractive, the most important thing is you need to find a most suitable and profitable layout for your ads. More clicks, more money.

I use channels to track individual ad blocks performance and looking at the data, I am sure it was due to this change and this particular ad block.

Interesting, I never really rated image ads much. After all, they are just like banner ads, and we all know what kind of CTR they tend to get. But maybe in your niche there just happens to be a few decent, high CPC/CTR image ads. Always worth trying.

Every test I've ever done with Adsense Image Ads always sucked.

I think image Ads are for certain types of traffic, like kids sites, or If the image Ad includes certain keywords like Free, Click Here, Download, etc... The call to action images will no doubt get a higher CTR than no call to action image Ads.
