I am not an expert, but the reason could be your on-page seo such as header tag, site title, etc

Give a link or name of your site so we could take a look at it.

It depends on how many links you have built, where and how you have built them and the quality of those links. Also more than that it depends on the competition of your keyword and alot hinges on your on-page optimisation.

you need to make sure your website is index first before building backlinks..im sure you can find your website in google just by typing in the url of your website..

the reason that you cant see could be due to not enough content and backlinks to appear in the search engine...

Google ranking is not only depend on link building, by the way you said you are building back links? how many back links you had ? what about your key words (too generic?). After all don't go with quantity links try with quality (100 pr no follow back links Not = 1 pr do follow link).

    It's up to you.
    Hope help full.

Here are a couple of considerations for you:

    1. Was you site indexed before you started backlinking?

    2. Are you using unique and quality content in your articles?

    3. Are your articles keyword rich and are you using relevant longtail keywords within your text?

    4. Perhaps use a Search Engine Rank checker to find/monitor your site

if you are entering a keyword and are not seeing your site on google, it may well be that you are not ranking at all for that keyword. so first find out how many pages of your site are indexed by google by entering site:domainname.com into google

Here is the order of things in SEO:

    1. do keyword research - focus on 3-5 keywords at a time, pick words that are frequently searched for and that aren't super competitive. Analyze top 10 competitor sites in your niche - those are the guys you will have to beat.

    2. do onpage seo for all webpages of your site - put your target keywords in all SEO-important page elements (title, headings etc), eliminate broken links, compare your keyword density with that of your top 10 competitors

    3. build links - there are a ton of different techniques including competitor backlink search, article submissions, social bookmarking, etc..

there is a ton of seo techniques and products on the market to help you with seo. start reading things like Google Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide, books like SEO In Practice and make use of Google Webmaster Tools - they are free and some are extremely helpful.
