Hi,
I create Privacy Policy for websites using Privacy Policy plugin... It will be the same across different websites and hence I would like to know how to stop indexing that page alone by search engines(especially google) so that I wont get penalty for duplicate content. Is there a better way for creating Privacy Policy page ?
#index #page #policy #privacy

    You won't get penalized for duplicate content my friend for having the privacy policy plugin, the information out there about duplicate content is way off base.

    You should only have a single Privacy Policy per domain, so no problem with duplicate content right?

    Your Privacy Policy will get buried in the SERPs sooner or later, you can also add a NOINDEX tag to that single pages header, If you don't like the Privacy Policy showing up in the SERPs.

    Be very careful with this tag, any page/post that includes this tag will be removed from the SERPs (eventually).

    <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX">

      I create a new WP-Page (not Post) & copy & paste the Privacy Policy from one of my old domains, then change the URLs in the Privacy Policy text.

      When you first create the site, the Privacy Policy will show in the SERPs, still after a while when you start creating new blog post it will get buried, even with a link in the footer of every page pointing at the Privacy Policy.

    Just edit your robot.txt configuration file, A robots.txt file restricts access to your site by search engine robots that crawl the web.

    Examples:
    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /directory/file.html
    Signature
