Am I On The Right Track?

I am currently working on a low competition, high traffic keyword blog website. I am using Wordpress Direct (as per the advice in Ed Dale's "Challenge")

My efforts have consisted of writing blog entries, creating backlinks and monitoring progress in Market Samurai.

Now, we are getting close to the 1st page (currently ranked 20)

I plan to monetize the site with Adsense when we reach page one.

I will continue to run backlinks and add content, with the aim of hitting the no1 spot.

For the keyword I am targeting the SEOT in Market Samurai is displayed as 502. Phrase to broad is 25%. Adwords CPC is $3.43.

My question is, what sort of return should I expect from Adsense when I get into a good position on the first page?

**Edit, I then have 3 other strong keywords phrases for the same blog with low competition which I will get ranked next.

First page itself doesn't really give you anything. From Top5 it gets interesting.

So if you're thinking on the traffic, in my mind, I usually make a calculation.

    #1 spot - 30-40% of the traffic
    #2 spot - 20-30%
    #3 spot - 10-20%

Exact match 10 000 visits per month - 50% and the spot I'm trying achieve. That usually gives me good idea.

Thanks alot for that. I kinda knew you had to be up top, but when you put it like that, its quite clear that being in position 7 or 6 isn't much good!

I just checked my ranking again there and now I'm 16. Climbing all the time :-)
