I had notice that a lot of people mention craigslist, but I can't find anywhere what is craigslist and what for what is used.

Can anybody tell me where can I find more about it?

It's a classified Ads web site that you can buy/sell things for free.

I doubt the backlinks would have any value as far as seo.
I really don't know what Craigslist is, I'm a new in this. I'm sorry, but I didn't born with IM knowledge.

Is that mean backlinks from Craigslist are dofollow?

It depends where you're from. Here in the UK, Craigslist exists but if I used it, I'd be advertising to myself. It just doesn't figure, so I'm not surprised there are people out there who don't know about it.

From experience trying to get backlinks on it some time ago, it seems to be patrolled by serial deletists and so really isn't worth the energy.

I have my daughter post ads on craigslist daily. When I noticed that the coding had no follow I had her take out the "no" and repost and the ads started getting indexed. Two days later it went back to "no follow" and I have left it alone.
IMHO Its hard to get the backlink when it is no follow.

BTW I have found that using Press Releases when SEO'd correctly and submitted to a PR site that will allow links is an excellent way to get some backlinks. I have also seen almost instant indexing as well as first page Google.

Of course that is a great source for backlinks, especially if those Press Release sites have high PR and are relevant to your niche. What are some of the press release sites you've used to get such good results?

Craigslist is a website somewhat similar to eBay and Amazon. Besides buying and selling stuff you can also rent homes, etc in Craigslist. Also Craigslist is extremely local, meaning when you check it you get re-directed to Craigslist in your city. The advantage of the local feature is you can actually stop by somebody's home and get your purchased items. The disadvantages are trust and security and payment. Nevertheless Craigslist also is one of the most popular websites in the world.

You can not use Craigslist for backlinking purpose because:
1- The links in Craigslist ads are no-follow
2- The links are temporary, so your ad page doesn't exist beyond one week or so period.

People use Craigslist for getting qualified traffic to their website though. So if you have a service or product that is suitable to be sold locally, Craigslist is one of the best options.

Hi you can not use Craigslist for backlinks if you have a landpage, website or blog that is monetize with adsense ads or cpa offers. Now you can use your own products and get backlinks from Craigslist. Hope this helps God bless!

Aren't the links "no follow"? Unless exceptions as deckman mentions.

By the way, does Warrior Forum now require a paid membership? I don't mind at all but I can't figure out how much for just a membership (no images, etc.).

  • Nobody is born with IM Knowledge, but through the magic of Google you can do a simple search and find out about things.

If you can't do that, how do you expect to make any money online?

And bumping your own posts is pretty lame.

One of the coolest ways to use Craigslist is simply to find people who need services and broker them. So for example, if someone needs web design done, you contact them and land the job, then outsource it!
