Hi Warriors,

I am searching many backlink techniques.

but many well known tehniques like blog commenting, forum commenting may take time.

I found link wheel technique and seems good to use. but don't know if it is worth to perform this technique since it may take time to complete the wheel.

Whats your suggestions?

Thanks.

    Yes it does take time but if you don't try then you won't know.

    Here is the simple fact:

    The more unique, quality content that you have that links through to more unique, quality content the more visitors you will get and the higher rankings.

    But yes I agree it does take time and it is not always black and white.

    Sometimes you will complete a link wheel and get number 1 on Google - other times you won't even rank.

    Opinions will differ.

    Two things I can tell you factually (though they're only factual reports of opinion) ...

    (i) The members here who have previously worked on search engine algorithms have all always said in earlier threads about this that linkwheels recognisable as such by search engines don't and won't work at all;

    (ii) The authors of the standard, widely accredited SEO textbooks say that linkwheels recognisable as such don't and won't work at all.

    And three more things which are my own opinion only ...

    (a) Some sort of vaguely link-pyramid-ish structure which additionally includes some randomised cross-links may work;

    (b) There certainly won't be any downside or "Google penalty risk" to trying anything like this on a "home-made/manual scale";

    (c) Call me a skepchick, but in a forum in which many members sell/promote linkwheels as part of their SEO services, it may be a little difficult to gather objective information. For this reason, with no disrespect to anyone, I suspect that the consensus of opinion here - to the extent that there is one - may not be altogether independent.

      I am not sure about link wheels...I've never created one. With that being said...I am sure that having good blogs to post your articles to with links to your pages is a good thing.

      So part of my backlinking method is to create good quality blogs...then when I create a money site I have a great place to begin adding articles for backlinks.

      None of my blogs are linked together in anykind of wheel.

        It is better to build a complex link pyramid structure than a simple link wheel. Most link pyramids include several 3 to 5 tiers with several properties in each tier. Make the pyramid as unique as possible. Take your time and build something that will last instead of a link wheel that won't rank well in the search engines.

    link wheels with some sort of randomization still do work. here is a link strategy diagram, its not exactly a link wheel, but follows the same concept of passing maximum link juice to your money pages, with some randomization
    http://www.shareaschnitzel.com/blog-...ategy-diagram/

    you will need to take some time to understand this and build out links, but its worth it

      you realize that a "sophisticated" linking structure and "randomization" are kind of mutually exclusive

      Otherwise..yes..diversity + RANDOMNESS

      Don't over-think - try to keep it natural and random, but CONSISTENT.

        Follow this.

        Link Wheels used to be extremely useful, but the engineers at Google caught on to them.

        Understand that Google tries to identify patterns and crush the ones that are too effective.

        As long as your linking structure follows a clear pattern, your efforts will always be diminished by the power-that-be at Google.

        Diversity and Randomness are key to successful, long-term SEO strategies.

    It depends on where and how you're getting the links.

    Don't waste your time doing it with profile links or splog commenting.

    But if you have videos which point to articles which point to content pages which sell product - then you'll probably be ok.

    If it's all links - to links - to links.. then you're probably barking up the same tree as all the other splinkers (did I just make that word up? Spam Linkers)

    I think it's overrated and in the WORST case scenario even harmful for your site.

    People in SEO tend to overthink and come up with "sophisticated" link schemes and strategies - but to be frank, for me this is all nonsense.

    When it comes to link building, diversity is important...and USUALLY a simple 2 layer link strategy is more than enough, for example article submissions (to directories) and then backlinked to them from social bookmarks etc. - combined with other stuff like good blog networks etc.

    Take it as you wish but one of the masters of SEO, Jeremy Schoemaker, says they appear to be quite effective. I know a lot of people that find link wheels (if done right) VERY effective. He discusses it here:

      I am not against using link wheels, but some of the old patterns no longer work.

      For example, hubspot and squidoo pages no longer carry the value they once did in Google, and that undermines many of the link wheels out there in the real world.

      If you build your link wheels outside of the channels that have been over-played, then link wheels are still very effective.

      As I said before, Google looks for patterns of behavior that they can identify, then squashes people who follow those patterns.

      The trick to make link wheels work is to avoid some of the common stomping grounds of the masses.

        I absolutely second all of the above.

        I am wholeheartedly in favour of achieving as much diversity as possible. If you only create one type of backlink, then you are one algorithm change away from losing the value of your entire backlink portfolio.

        If you have diversity, to the extent that you have 5,6,7...20+ different types of backlinks, then even with a total devaluation of a particular link type, you will hardly suffer. You may even watch your competitors slip and slide right out of the rankings!

    Hello condorx,

    According to me Only Link Wheel activity can't help your website to get backlinks or traffic or ranking. You have to do All SEO Activities like Article, Directory, Press release, Forum Posting, Guest Blogging etc. if you want to rank better than Just Make Quality Backlinks. For it you can Make Submissions in Niche Website, High Page Rank Sites and Niche Website.

    I think the best thing about linkwheels is that you can make them as complicated as you want, and make a super fancy diagram of how it works that makes it look like it will be effective and wow your customers.

    It doesn't mean that it will work....

    I also like people who buy these .edu and .gov link wheels because they are all connected and once I find one of the links, I can follow the links and steal a bunch of .edu and .gov links free.

    I used to make massive linkwheels when I first started SEO. Let's say I've moved on a long time ago....

    Forum and blog commenting takes time? How can you say that? This is the best method for building quality backlinks towards your site. However, since you wanted to know about link wheel then without any it too is an effective method, gives back assured results. For this whatever time will be taken is during writing a blog or article for posting as posting and assigning link to your keywords doesn't takes more than 2 or 3 seconds.

    With a link wheel, you will gain authority from within the major search engines. Chances are you will gain a significant PR boost, traffic and SERP (Search Engine Result Page) ranking by using a link wheel as part of a balanced link building campaign.
    Wish successful!

    From my understanding Link Wheels leave too much of a footprint therefore Googs may end up discounting the links... I'm looking to build 3 and 4 tier link pyramids using web 2.0's instead which to me seems like a better option.
