I'm currently building backlinks for my newly-optimized website with content locker promoting incentives.

Question: Will this hurt SEO and traffic?

    You can build backlinks for a new website but don't go for it too fast. Start building links slowly an at natural pace. Number of web pages in a website has also a relation with the backlinks. If you have a small website with just 5 pages don't build 5000 links for the home page.
