Not recommend to backlink a new website?

As the title says, I'm wondering this because most new sites being served by Google Dance.

    you need the backlinks for any site. They just need to "look organic".

    I usually start backlinking internal pages instead of the main one.

    Its best to start backlinking from the start, so that your link profile can build up over time, and this way it helps to build up natural rankings, and gives you more chance of increasing rank. The only way to see results is if you plan out a guideline of how many links to build per day, or per week, and then meet those targets, and soon enough your pages will start ranking more, due to the constant effort, but do not get wrong here, google results are not always guaranteed, the only guaranteed part about backlinking is, the constant work you put in, and the end result will always be good. Just keep at it, till you see results!

    My way usually is to make links to web 2.0, and article directories, and have them all linking to each other, and then what I do from here, is to build additional backlinks to those properties to increase link juice, and over link power to my main domain. This is something that has worked well for me.

    Keep the backlinks pointing to new sites as clean as possible. In other words, avoid the "spammy" links. (Huge automated profile / blog commenting blasts, etc.) These are fine pointing to lower tier backlinks or buffer pages, but that's about it. There's some suggestion that aged domains can handle these types of links though.

      There's no true science for backlinking. The example I hear a lot is if a site goes viral and gets a ton of backlinks in a short amount of time. It's hard to tell what's "natural" and what's not, even for Google.

        lol, someone got scolded...

        You got a point there also, is hard to define "natural" as in for SEO.

        I also feel it goes against thru the popularity as for how much link should be built.

    I have a system I've begun to use. I begin by syndicating content using WP-Syndicator and by also writing a handful of unique articles and submitting to Ezine articles GoArticles etc.

    I do each of these from day one as I begin adding content posts to my site.

    Then, after a week or two, I'll begin backlinking. Maybe 10-20 per day. Over the course of the month, I may either outsource a larger quantity of links, or use Magic Submitter.

    This has allowed me several top 5 rankings in a month or less for reasonable competition.

    So, yes. I believe in backlinking a new site but doing it very specifically.
