Possible to compete SEO wise?

I do real estate and my competitors site is partnered up with a local news site which is has a high PR.

My question is this: Is it possible to compete with my competitor when he has over 100,000 backlinks from this news site which is a very high PR?

And does google look at diversified links vs. all from the same site?

It is just a little discouraging when you pull your competitors links and see that.

No website is safe from being knocked off of the front page. With that being said some websites are harder to knock off than others.

I have seen sites rank with 1000 of backlinks coming from one ip address.

It might take you some money and time to take him over.

Look at his anchor text as well and see what he is targeting. You can also go for other keywords that are similar.

Pm me if you need more help.

I tell ya, one of my sites has close to 2 million backlinks and I have to fight to stay where I am.

Backlinks are important but not as important as quality content. Put your visitors experience first, and (eventually) you'll do ok.
