ok, think i have those down....

was thinking more of, do i need to set up different ads for each website, or for each section of each site etc

or is it ok to just use one code for all....assume then ther is no way to seperate to see how each page/ad is doing?

What got me going on Adsense was this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...s-learned.html

It has generated a lot of controversy, but it gave my beginnings, and I have a good monthly residual income because of it.

Here's what I learned. I first use custom channels to test different placements to see where the hot points are on the website. After I find out the hot spots then I switch everything out and just use the url channels to track impressions and CTR.

Now I've gotten lazy and just pick up themes optimized for adsense such as CTR theme, wp adsense theme, Clickbump.. or any of the other themes that supposedly have worked out the kinks and have already pre optimized the theme for placements. But the ones i've listed have hadd good reviews and I like them too. Gives you some variety so not all your sites look the same.

You definitely need to create an ad for each site/page/pagelocation/adsize if you want to accurately test the performance of your ad.

So for example, if you want to test how an ad is performing in a specific location of a specific page, you need to create a channel that identifies the ad and exactly where you are using it.

Here is an example of a channel that I would create:

    sitename/url + pagetitle/url + topleft + 336x280 so it would look something like this: "mysite_mypage_topL_336x280"

    I hope that this helps.

One secret is to test, test, test as far as ad placement. But do give it time to get results.
Also highly recommend Clickbump- themes for adsesne.

yes, this is also my opinion, it can highly increase the relativity between keywords and the page.
