SEO value of keyword rich URLs in MVC3

Can anyone tell me if there is any benefit from using descriptive URLs, using different friendly urls to point to the same page, for example there are two different products with the urls

A.) petshopDomain.com/products/details/1/standard-dog-collar
B.) petshopDomain.com/products/details/2/fancy-dog-collar

Would it be beneficial to drop the relatively meaningless words 'Products' and 'Details' and re-write this to include more meaningfull keywords eg.

C.) petshopDomain.com/canine-pet-accessories/1/standard-dog-collar
D.) petshopDomain.com/canine-pet-accessories/2/fancy-dog-collar

in the second set of url's we now have 'pet', 'canine' and 'accessories' associated with petShopDomain.com. In these examples the product controller is re-mapped in the Global.asax file.

I don't think this example perfectly fits what i was getting at, since pet shop products may very well have different categories, however I hope that you can see that both the plain and fancy url would take you to the same product. Also would it be possible to loose the product id number and use a seoUrl field as id.

I'm interested to find out if there is any SEO benefit in doing this, not how much of a pain it would be to implement.

kind regards
