Hi All,

I was doing some research using Firefox with SEO Quake enabled. All of sudden, I kept getting PR: n/a over and over again, no matter what page of search results I was on.

Any fix for this??

Or do you know of an alternative FREE solution for checking PR??

Grrrrrrr.....

Ayesha

I normally get that when I set it to check every site I visit. To fix this, you could change the default to "request parameters" that way seoquake only checks PR when I tell it to. I think its just a temporary ban by yahoo.

    Hello!
Maybe seoquake update will help you.
I've seen here on warriorforum some threads where people describe problems with seoquake, hope developpers fixed them in the latest version.

It means that yahoo banned you. To avoid this, you should enable cashing, or set up a delay.
For further information look this tutorial video:

I had a look in the SEOquake preferences and the cache was already enabled. Also the parameters requests delays was set 500ms.

Im using the SEOquake beta version for Chrome. Could that be the problem?

I was using SEO quake the other day and kind of overdid it I guess - now Google won't show me any PR. The trouble is - this was 2 days ago and it still won't work! Does anyone know, is that length of IP ban normal? I can't have been banned permanently, can I?!!

You can use SEObook. It has a tool that used to check rankings, even in Google.

Nope, no free solutions that will do it inline like SEO Quake.

Sounds like you've burned your IP for doing to many requests in a short period of time, you could try finding a proxy and using that which may alleviate your problem and let you do more searches.

You can use SEO for firefox if you want to check these stats within the google search results. They update their plugins on a regular base so they are almost always up-to-date.

But since Google has upgraded to Instant search results It looks like I can't use SEO for firefox anymore..

But the SEObook toolbar is great anyway.. gives me all the data I need when I click on the particular website..

May be you should Update both your browser and your seo quake version. I'm still using it and the benefit is I'm getting lot's of info about a website using just one addons. So update and see what happens.

Hmm.. it seems wierd that if google banned your ip they would only ban your ability to get PR. If you are banned for too many searches then it would be more reasonable to think they'd ban you for doing all searches-pages indexed, links, or even just regular search.

Actually google changed their pr checking url, so all current tools that get pr won't work till they're updated.

Thanks guys, yes I did some research and discovered that was the case. I found a link (not allowed by Warrior forum to place it here, but look up 'Smug gekko' and 'PR not working' and I found an easy fix that worked for Firefox, though not for Chrome which won't let me edit the code. Guess I'll have to wait for their update.

i always use prchecker(.)info for checking pr. Or just type "pr checker" in google and you'll get lots of options.
